Well, she proved to be one nutty woman during her show but do you think Shawne Merriman is suffering from 'roid rage?

Haters just love to hate, and this is yet another one of those discussions that can polarize a room fast, and nearly all details on both sides of the incident are speculative and biased at this point. Until they get the viewpoints of the witnesses from that night to tell it like it was, it would be hard to find a discourse about this story without having people dogpile on the "huge, oafish" athlete.

I'm more inclined to side with Merriman, though, because I've been in this exact situation and would feel awful to see what happened to me befall upon him. Also, Tila is an attention whore who serves no good will toward humanity, so... I can't really take her at her (hiccup) word at this stage. FoxSportsRadio last night had the best take on the story that I have heeard thus far, but I can't readily quote it. It's probably on the Labor Day podcasts.

This is a very telling excerpt: “I feel sorry for the guy and I think the truth needs to be told,” said James Brennan, who owns Stingaree, one of the city’s top hangouts for celebrities.

Brennan said he normally wouldn’t comment, but felt he should after seeing Tequila’s tweet in which she said she’s allergic to alcohol.

“It sounds like she’s allergic to the truth,” Brennan told The Associated Press.

They even said she didn't look hurt...If you get thrown to the ground by a 6'4" 250lb motherfucker, you'd have some scuffs to show for it, even at the lightest level...Attention whore indeed...

I get a kick outa the Playboy lead story today...it features 20 questions with Merriman and the title goes...

"Shawn Merriman the Sandiego Chargers meanest SOB is rebuilt, recharged and ready to hit anything that moves."

Well...I guess they weren't kidding! Nyuck nyuck nyuck...

Nah I really don't have a dog in the fight. Tila is pretty attractive but her annoyance factor overshadows her hottness factor ten times over. And I hate the Chargers so anyhting that disrupts those clowns...yipee!

Only thing I have seen so far are marks on her arm indicating that he grabbed her arms really hard. Had he choked her with those same hands her neck would be the same. But I haven't seen that at all.

Perhaps Shawne Merriman is the victim of a has-been reality star and wanna-be singer desperate for any measure of publicity.

Or, perhaps he was suffering from a bout of “tainted supplement” rage. Or maybe he was just unhappy with the performance of his alma mater Saturday night.

What really happened between the Chargers’ outside linebacker and MTV star Tila “Tequila” Nguyen last Saturday night may not ever become public knowledge. Even if fully vindicated, the damage to Merriman’s already dubious reputation has been done.

The lesson to be learned from Merriman is that athletes – at both the collegiate and professional levels – and public figures in general is that they must be wary of both their actions and the perceptions of their actions.
