So what shows are on your must see list as of right now..?

Currently I'm re-watching season two of Californication (on Showtime) for the 3rd time...it's currently on its 3rd season. I discovered it last year and have watchted the first two seasons over and over whenever I can.

I've heard Dexter (also on Showtime) is a great show...and is the one I'll probably watch next when I'm bored.

I've always wanted to watch the Sopranos, but I know I have a lot of catching up to do, and I'm just intimidated by the 9 seasons or so that it ran.

What about the rest of you? I know we've had threads on individual shows, but what are ones you're watching now, or that you just can't get enough of from the past?

Same here for both.

Currently rewatching the best show I've discovered in the 00's: HBO's Rome & also awaiting a boxset of Discovery Channel's A Haunting that i found on the cheap through ebay.

Nothing except Smallville with any regularity for me...I'm anxious to check out the season premier of V though, which was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid...I just don't have the time to watch as much TV these days and tbh, I'm only watching Smallville cause I can download it and watch it when I want...

There's this new show coming on Showtime though I think, kinda reminds me of mix between gladiator and 300...Looks interesting, I hope I can catch the premier and stick to it...

Well I dont think anyone watches TV in the traditional sense anymore...I'm talking precisely about the shows you can get for free off the internet, I know I'm not paying extra for showtime!

Isn't Smallville a family show on like ABC or something?

And Rome looked cool, I would assume from the fact that you watch it regularly you would say it delivers?

I don't watch TV in that sense anymore. Save for PBS, which is never on schedule and always has something else intriguing, even if it is a rerun.

The shows I'm indulging myself with on a weekly basis are as follows:

Dexter (season 4)
Bones ... whatever season this is
True Blood - although my brain is "technically" disgusted by this show, I still tuned in for the entire 2nd season without a qualm
Glee ... I don't know why I keep watching this dreck, but I'm strangely attracted to the "man-face" brunette
Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Bengals - spectacular. Nothing else to say.
Leverage - even though its hokey, I like it... even moreso when I get my Beth Riesgraf fix ;)
Burn Notice - nearly the same thing as above, but with more emphasis on guns and explosions during the con, and less finesse.
Mad Men - just finished season 1 last month, gonna start season 2 in a bit... It took awhile, but if you get through ep. 8 in season 1, you'll love this series.
Damages - I watched season 2, and all through it, I wondered if I should have stayed up until 4am on that random Saturday to catch the gist of the first season. If you like story, flash forwards and rewinds with your betrayal, then this is a good show.
The Sopranos - I left off around season 4 or 5... I have yet to return to watching it regularly, but I'm going to
The Shield - gonna start from the pilot (watched it last week) until the final episode
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - one of the only compelling manga I enjoyed years ago; glad to see it subbed and true to the story arc this time around. I may seem out of place watching it at times, but it's really gripping nonetheless
NFL Sunday (this is the hardest to watch if you don't own a TV, or live in the US :( ) - people don't realize that although a sport, the NFL is one of the best, most dynamic, and pull-you-in drama/action features that you continually watch season upon season remarking in awe at what was said to happen and what actually ended up as reality.

I also am wanting to get into these shows, but time has not allowed it to happen thus far:

Life On Mars / Ashes to Ashes (BBC productions)
The Office (again, by BBC One)
Planet Earth (see a theme here?)
The Practice (I'm late to realizing that I like this show)
Pilot Guides / GlobeTrekker - the best travel compendium ever and highly-regarded (by me) as the best show of all time

Dude Hard Knocks sounds awesome! Can you explain a little bit more about it?

And are the rumors about Dexter's awesomeness true?

Sons of Annarchy and Entourage have also been suggested to me through some (questionable) people's opinions...anyone watch those and can say if they're good or not.

Also, although not really series es, I try to catch Judge Mathis, Around the Horn, and Pardon The Interruption every day from 3-5 (central time)

Oh and I know Madmen gets great reviews...but it doesn't really look too terribly interesting...

I also watch House and Celebrity Apprentice (great, great show) as well as Hell's Kitchen and the 2 hour block on NBC Thursday's starting with Community and ending with 30 Rock.

Hard Knocks and Dexter are nearly beyond words in how much great content are provided within a span of only 50 minutes. It's insane, in a fulfilling way.

I should have watched Hrad Knocks prior to the season, but after Cincy's win over Baltimore, I thought, "It's either now or never." Best decision I've made in the past month.

The five-part series (while short, if they cut it in segments of 22 min., easily have enough material for a three-month romp) details the two-month long training camp of the "punchy and cornered" franchise of the Bengals. it starts out in Georgetown, Kentucky, moving to Paul Brown Stadium eventually, following key rookies, anxious veterans, and recent free-agent acquistions trying to become contenders again. Tey go through the motions of preseason games, and agonizing decisions of who exactly puts them in the best position as a whole team, and cutting those that do not make the grade. It really is astounding how attached you get to a few players and coaches in just a term of minutes, actually. I just noticed this past episode how great the music sets a good tone. I wonder if they've used it prior seasons?

I'm going to watch the season finale (ep. 5) tomorrow afternoon.

Are you serious about Dexter? Jump onto the bandwagon already, man. (Even though I've been watching from the early onset of the first half of the premiere season... it's now a quarter of the way into season 4.) Season One is a mind-blower, and then it gets you rolling from then on, never faltering.
In just a matter of key words, I'll describe the 4 different arcs, according to what Dexter may surmise of the season as a whole: "My Other Side", "My Unfriendly Friend" , "My Need to Belong" , "My Search for Meaning".

I can get into more, but I'll leave this here, and allow you to decide what looks most promising to you:

Dude Hard Knocks sounds awesome...I'm definitely going to start watching that this week. Dexter will follow shortly.

Did anyone else watch Playmakers back when it was out? I tried to get into it this summer (as my brother owns the DVD) but I would pick random ass times to watch it and have a hard time staying awake (not that the show was boring or anything...but at 11 am when you haven't been to sleep yet, almost anything can put you out)
