Dang....I didn't start really following football until around 1996. I'll check out the Bears and post again when I get some stats

You don't have to follow football to know about the most dominate defense in the history of football.

Are you meaning the year the Ravens won the Super Bowl or really the '02 Ravens. They were only ranked 12th in teh NFL I think.

But when I think of defense, I think of the Steelers and the Iron Curtain. THat's what I think of. Or the Vikings in their prime in the '70s

I had to do a little research on it, cause like LG I am born and raised in Chicago, and definitely bound to be bias towards the '85 Bears...I have the original Super Bowl shuffle albums in my closet...

Raw statistics, the 2000, not the 2002 Ravens were the best D...But, in a deviated number chart, the 85 Bears were the best, which I think is the more appropriate measure in the sense...Of course, you can make an argument for both...

But, the 1985 Bears have at least 3 or 4 players on that D that should be in the hall of fame...Richard Dent, Mike Singletary, McMichael...All great players...

In fact, I'd put the 1985 Bears up there as the greatest team of all time...Say what you want about Jim McMahon, but that was a complete team...Lest I mention they had SWEETNESS runnin' that shit...There have been TONS of great, great teams...But them Bears man...Ditka..? Buddy Ryan..? Man, those were great, great days...

After looking at stats from www.pro-football-reference.com, I'd have to say that the '85 Bears looked the best.
