thinly disguised, IMO. We aren't REALLY discussing humans as a whole species, since we've managed to separate oursleves into socio-economic groups. The have-nots, the haves, and the have-way-too-fucking-much-but-no-desire-to-gives. this isn't an issue of survival of the fittest, it's an issue of survival of the ones that already control the market, energy sources, and food production en masse. Sure, more food can and would aid population growth, but education, discipline and direct involvement could affect birthrates in underdeveloped countries...dude's makin it sound like "ignore them, they'll go away" is the answer.
Pretty comfy position to take considering his ass ain't NEVER gonna starve to death, or deal with malaria, widespread HIV, tribal warlords, puppet landowners, or bought-off governments and presidents...or any of the perks of the shaft-end of the bling(2) game.
