Hemon pater ho en ouranos hagiazo sou onoma.

Our father in the vast visible expanse of the sky and the regions beyond; sanctify your name.

Sou basileia erchomai.

Your domain arises.

Sou thelema ginomai epi ge, hos kai en ouranos.

Your ability to manifest your desires directs the arable land and the divisions of man and creature upon it, as and the vast visible expanse of the sky and the regions beyond.

Didomi hemin semeron hemon epiousios artos.

Give us this day our bread of necessity.

Kai aphiemi hemin hemon opheilema hos kai hemeis aphiemi hemon opheiletes.

And cancel us that which we owe even as we cancel that which is owed us.

Kai eisphero hemas me eis peirasmos alla rhoumai hemas apo poneros.

And direct us not towards the condition where which man has cause to sin, instead draw us to yourselves and away from The Evil.

Hoti sou esti basileia kai dunamis kai doxa eis aion amen.

Because you are dominion and fortitude and splendour, for all ages, amen.

Thank you Sir, for that information...

Why is the prayer I'm sure many of us learned so different..?

It's because translation of Hebrew, Aramaic, and/or Greek is all very imprecise when you try to put it into English. A word in these languages can have multiple shades of meaning depending on usage, syntax, etc. As one who has translated passages from the original languages, it's interesting to see how much the meaning of a passage can change with the variance of a few words.

yes, deepdiver,.. that and the men who translated the bible were translating the book for a world which barely could understand a second or third grade grammar class, and had no exposure to math science or literacy.

and king james was a dolt, besides. inbred mongoloid pedaphile drunk.

Very very true. I would say that a great majority of the translations of the Bible have been done with a hidden agenda behind them. That's also the reason the "Holy Roman Catholic Church" resisted for hundreds of years having Mass said in the language of the region. If the masses don't understand what you're saying, how can they object or question?

how could Truth get so far hidden, if it was all the world was created with?

Because we humans put out hands all over it and bent it out of shape.
