Anyone seen this?
I watched the pilot and first episode the other day. I was already writing it off before i'd seen it. I had it on in the background and really got into it. So now i cant wait for the next one! It's a bit annoying sometimes with so many flashbacks but i still kept watching.
what i dont want is to be waiting a whole series for the answer to some bloody question aka lost, then find out its a dream. but i guess that's the name of the game..

No, I am curious to what it's about though. The last series that seemed similar, "FlashForward", was canceled. I just don't know what to expect with shows so I generally don't watch first seasons. I wait until they are at least in the second season.

I was writing it off based on the commercials, but my roommate told me it was a decent show, so I started watching it. It's OK...it does keep you coming back for more if you're into these types of shows. Someone said that if Lost and 24 had a baby, it'd be The Event. I never watched Lost, but I'm assuming the flashbacks were a part of that show? That's the only thing about The Event that grates my nerves, the damned flashbacks. And also NBC's wanting to replay the past 10-30 seconds of what happened before the last commercial break, immediately after the break (one of the things that annoyed me about Heroes, too). The skinny blonde chic is easy on the eyes but I don't think her love interest and her have any chemistry. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10.

yeah the flashbacks are really annoying. I keep thinking its for people with very short attention spans that cant remember what happened 10 minutes ago. But despite that it kept me interested but I'm not exactly sure why.

Its trying to replace lost.
Thats all I'm going to say.
Shows should not be marketed as a replacement for a epic show.
