Poll doesn't seem to work...or is it just me?
I was also once in the same boat of which console to get. I debated for over a year, even well after the PS3 Slim came out and Sony dropped the price to $299.
I ended up going with the PS3 for several reasons.
1.
Blu-Ray drive already included. This beauty plays everything you stick in it. DVDs are also automatically upscaled to 1080p. The Xbox 360 will never feature this capability as Microsoft has stated repeatedly. They tried an expensive HD-DVD USB add on but we all know how that went.
2.
Built-in 802.11g wireless. At the time the Xbox 360 didn't have it. As far as I know, the new Xbox 360 S finally includes this. Previously it was a $79 add-on through USB.
3.
Bluetooth. All wireless controllers are Bluetooth. This is both faster and farther (25 feet or more) than RF that the Xbox 360 uses for it's controllers. Also, you can lose line-of-sight and still not lose connectivity. If someone walks in front of the PS3 nothing loses it's connection. The PS3 Blu-Ray remote has this as well.
4.
Slot load drive. The PS3 has a slot load Blu-Ray drive. The Xbox 360 uses a tray load. Come on, it's the year 2010 already.
5.
Free internet multiplayer. The PS3 uses free access to the Playstation Network (PSN) for online multiplayer. The Xbox 360? $49 per year for Xbox LIVE.
6.
Reliability. The Xbox 360 suffers from a nasty history of hardware failures. It is commonly known as the Red Ring of Death (RROD). The PS3 doesn't have this nasty history.
7.
Quietness. The PS3 uses a single, large internal fan with an excellent cooling design to cool the CPU. You will rarely hear it. The Xbox 360 uses a pair of loud 60mm fans.
8.
Internal power supply. The Xbox 360 uses a giant power brick that's ugly. The PS3's power supply is internal.
9.
Easy to upgrade hard drive. Sony allows you to easily switch out the hard drive with a new one without voiding your warranty. The biggest you can get at this time is
750GB.
10.
The PS3 will last longer. The PS3 uses a
Cell processor that game developers are finally finding out exactly how powerful it is. An example is the game "Sniper: Ghost Warrior". It originally only came out for the PC and Xbox 360. City Interactive announced that it will come out for the PS3 soon with improved graphics...because only the PS3 is capable of such a thing. The Xbox 360 comes with a triple core Xenon processor. The PS3's Cell is a 6 SPE powered monster controlled by a multi-threaded PPE.
11.
Better physics. The PS3 is powered by an nVIDIA RSX graphics processor, which owns
Ageia's PhysX technology - also implemented in the PS3. Games such as LittleBigPlanet will simply blow you away with the game physics.
12.
Uncharted and Uncharted 2. Games that are NOT on the Xbox 360 and are mind bending in game play and graphics:

13.
The PS3 uses less power. The current PS3 Slim uses 60W max when gaming. The current Xbox 360 S uses 135W max when gaming.
There, 13 reasons why I would highly recommend the PS3 over the Xbox 360. Like I said, I debated it for over a year.
