Mozilla screws up Thunderbird

Been using Thunderbird for the better part of 8 months now. Been loving it with the Lightning add-on for calendar use. But Mozilla has decided to ramp up version releases, I guess in an attempt to chase down Google's insane Chrome version numbering.

The new Thunderbird 5 in Windows Vista/7 looks like crap! They made the entire top menu all Aero Glass and if you have a dark wallpaper you can't see crap. See below for an example.

I gave up with that one. I switched from Opera because they decided to do their own thing with the Speed Dial. Now Mozilla screws up the look of Thunderbird? No way to convert Thunderbird mail to Outlook (easily) so I basically used my old Gmail account with IMAP and dumped all the mail up then back down into Outlook 2007.

Guess I learned my lesson with that one. I will stick with Outlook because I know it inside and out.

They don't have different themes for Thunderbird so it's more copacetic with your wallpaper?

There are different themes but I didn't want to have to go that far. The default theme for Thunderbird 3.X was great. I have no idea why they made it all Aero Glass. Nonetheless I am back to Outlook 2007 for good. Gonna look into purchasing Office 2010 here pretty soon...or maybe just getting a TechNet subscription. That might be money better spent actually.
