Matter & Dark Matter

I remember a tv series called "Stephen Hawking's Universe", that talked about theories of the universe, black holes, dark matter, and antimatter.

Most of it is a bit fuzzy in my memory, but I think I recall that it said "matter makes up only a small proportion of the universe, the rest is dark matter".

If that is true, what is dark matter? Is it what we call "space"? Dark matter fills in the voids and gaps between particles of matter?

There's been discussions about where and what God is, and a recent conclusion that He is the essence of the presence. In other words, everywhere.

So, is it possible that God is dark matter? He is the essence of presence, He encompasses everything. Since most of the universe is dark matter- which we cannot see, is that how he can be "the essence"?

I do believe that God can be everywhere but I don't know much about dark matter.

@ AYHJA- Thanks! I'm glad you appreciate it! Soon I'll do some reading up too, because I don't remember much of what that show said, and I'm trying to see if there's a connection...........

When you can't quite explain the intricacies of space-time...you call it 'foam', shifting, ever changing, and ripe with teeeny-tiny possibilities.

Adiriel, the term comes from back in the 50's or 60's, right?
