For those of you interested in top notch cpu coolers, check this out:

It's supposed to be upmpteen times more efficient than water cooling, and I definitely will keep my eye on it...My current CPU cooler weighs a full pound, has 2 90mm fans on it, and the cooling core is made out of solid 24K gold (no bullshit)...I currently have about...11 total fans in my case...My machine isn't loud, but you can certainly tell when it is off...

i did not see any pricing info....is it one of those, "if you have to ask you can not afford it" type things?

Hahahaha...Maybe...I expect it to be as riduculous as watercooling was when it first came out...But I don't think its completely ready just yet..I'm going to be calling soon and getting some info...I'm looking to go 64bit in the coming weeks, complete system overhaul, and I'll definitely look into this puppy...

Are you going to go with a dual core system? I just built my 64 bit system and have been a little underwhelmed. I thought the performance gains would be much greater. 64 bit windows sux, and there is no comparable linux software to some of the stuff I run in windows. I would strongly suggest going dual core if you can as that seems to be the way things will be going in the future.

ps the system I just built if you are curious is:
dfi nf4 ultra D motherboard
amd 4000+ processor
1GB corsair xms ddr400 ram
nvidia 6600GT video card
2 maxtor 160GB sata HD
1 western digital 120GB eide HD
2dvd+/-RW drives
fanless 480watt PSU

Oh no doubt E, I'm goin dual core, eyeing that 4400 as a matter of fact...I'm gonna throw some specs up in a couple of days to let the rest of the TECH help me get it proper...

And that's a nice system, are you running those SATA Maxtor's in a RAID..?

i thought about raid, but I would rather have the extra storage versus the redundacy. I thought about doing the stripe thing to get supposedly faster access times, but I wanted to introduce as few variables as possible when setting up for the first time. I still have 2 sata slots open so I may introduce a raid config in the future and run video editing apps etc from them. As it is, surfing for pr0n does not need faster disk access than it currently has..
The Linux distro I have been having the most fun with is Kanotix. They have a 32 and 64 bit version as well as live CD and installable versions. CHeck it out if you are looking for a c00li0 linux distro
