So, post game talk, and I'm listening to Stu Scott and the rest of the NBA guru's talk about Timmy D...His legacy, to be more specific...Greg Anthony even called him the greatest PF to ever play the game...

Now, let it be known that I am no Tim Duncan fan...His lack of emotion and attitude just disturbs me...But, I'm no hater, and the man gets it on, on the court where it counts...3 Finals MVP's, A couple Season MVP's under his belt...He's consistent...Inside, outside game is intact...He's savvy, and carry's himself w/class...

But...The G.O.A.T..?

The greatest PF to ever play the game..??? That's some high company to be in...I personally would rather have Chuck Barkley on my squad...But, how can you argue against Duncan..?

Duncan is amazing and I'm a huge fan of his. 3 Finals MVP's in 7 years is amazing and unheard of. Best of all time? I would have to say so. I'd rather have him than Barkley on my team and I can't think of any other PF that was good enough to remember.

A...you've gotta admire the way Duncan plays. You said he lakcs emotion and attitude but I don't see it that way. I see it as his focus level is constant thru out the game. He does let calls or being down in the game get to him. I think that's one of the greatest qualities a player can have

Yeah, but trash...He like...Dunks on people and does nothing...That's so damn boring...Even Michael Jordan, the greatest player of our era, had mad attitude...It didn't overshadow his game, which is where you run into the most problems I think...

True...that is a good point. It would be nice to see him react after dunking on someone but I think overall the way he composes himself is awesome

I love Duncan's class/ lack (actually not lack jus lack of displaying) emotion and hate it at the same time..

Far from the greatest tho..I would really like to see him on another team, cuz honestly he is a good player but from what I can see Ginobli, Parker, and a few other guys seemed to take control more than he did..N he gotta make some FT's...Barkley, Baylor, theres a lot more that are/were better..

I hate this dicussion, why is everyone talking about him like his career is over, he has like 8 more years left in him, so wtf is the point of this?

Lets start talking about Lebron or Kobe's legacy too, considering they're both gonna play many more years. Legacy talk is done at the END of someones career, not in the middle.

It's quite appropriate to talk of legacy before the end of a career...It must be, cause this is the same discussion they were having on Sportcenter when I woke up this morning...The point is, in fact, that he has so many years left in him, and has already accomplished so much...

I don't even like Duncan, but I'd take him over the mailman any day...

One thing about comparing athletes in team sports is that you have to take into consideration who they have on their teams. Duncan had a great center in David Robinson (former MVP and scoring champion) for two of his three titles, while Charles Barkley didn't have that luxury. Even Karl Malone went all but his last year without a great center. Only Jordan was able to lead his team to multiple titles without a hall of fame big man. This year the Spurs didn't have an all star center but Duncan had a great supporting cast, and they were pretty deep as well. Duncan is one of the greatest and I'm not taking anything away from him, but I'd like to have seen him guide the '93 Suns to a title over the Bulls or the '97 or '98 Jazz to victories over Jordan's team as well. Likewise, I think both Malone and Barkley in their primes would have had the same 3 rings if they had Duncan's teammates for those 3 runs.

And we are not alone, people have talked about Tim's mean streak, or lack theeof, for quite sometime now...He was somewhat aggressive last night, and he dominated teh shit...If he could put fear in his opponents he would be great...
