Which domain registrar do you use? Which would you say is the best?
From what I see it is basically between NameCheap and 1and1.

Back in the day I used GoDaddy. Been a VERY long time since I had a website. Used 1and1 in the past and it was decent.

1and1 is the cheapest.
Do not expect good customer support (the outsouce) but other than that, they're the best value for sure. I didn't have l of any issues with them prior to last year or so. Then, really all of a sudden, they just started fucking the pooch. Hard...
I would recommend them, but not without those reservations.

Hey, I said the same thing about an ex-GF once! ;) ;) ;)
1and1 is 'ok' for general use, if you just want a simple personal site. If it's for a business or something you expect to make you money, I'd go with someone better.
My 2 1/2 cents....

Tried Gandi, 1and1, Namecheap.
Gandi is the most expensive. Based in France, but with offices in the U.S. My credit card company charged me a foreign transaction fee so I guess that billing is done thru France. Their whois privacy shows your real name (the name you used to create an account with Gandi) and the 'Gandi handle' (the Gandi generated user name you use to login with). Did not go with them for these reasons.
NC and 1&1 are about the same price. 1&1 offer more and cheaper 'specials' for the first year (currently 99 cents for .com and .info for the first year).
Went with NC because I like their UI better than 1&1.
Have not really tried tech support on any of them.
If you are looking for just a free DNS service then Hurricane Electric looks pretty good.

I don't have much to add here, but I must say this thread is intriguing and informative.
I, too, would like to hear more opinions on the best domain hoster/registrar based upon pricing, reliability / options, and customer services.
(I would really like to register my fictional band name now, before someone thinks it up and fools themself into believing they thought of it first.)
