Let me say this. Everyone should see this movie. Let it sink in a bit. There are some interesting aspects of it that make it different from other movies that you may think are like it. A guy leaves home and is sold into slavery. Wow. Now, I have a bit more of a unique take on it. I live here in Washington, D.C.. The nation's cockpit. Dare I say, the world's cockpit. And the places in the early part of the movie are less than 3 miles from where I live. Very close to where I shop for groceries. Allegedly one of the most haunted places in the country. Blows me away.
Also worth noting that you can download the book on Google for free. But the book will ruin the movie for you a bit, see the movie first, then read the book.
