Yea, I just lost one of the greatest games ever...

I have a custom team which is pretty good and I was playing the Patriots on All Madden (Patriots were a 97, I was a 95)..

In a game packed with turnovers, the score is 26-16 going into the 4th, Im ahead. They drive down and get a field goal. A few punts exchange, and I put a drive together, giving myself a 3rd and 7 on their 30ish with about 1:50 to go. I decide to go for the dagger with a pass for the first. I misread a blitz, and fucking throw a pick. They drive all the way down and score on a 30 yard pass with :25 left. I get the kick out to the 15. I had all my timeouts. I, then, on 4 consecutive plays, scramble with Vick all the way down the field and score, capped by a 40 yard scamper. It was nasty, I called plays designed for him to rollout and TAKE OFF if it was man coverage. Luckily, 3 of the 4 times it was, and I gained about 75 yards between those three plays.

I am quite happy right now, that being Vick's 4th rushing TD (he had like 140 yards after that). I kickoff, am kinda screwing around (made a guy dive), and yea....they fucking run it for a touchdown. OT....

I win the toss, get a few first downs, and am faced with a 3rd and 4 to which I have a drag to Javon Walker planned. The safety on the other side of the field creeps up for a blitz however, so I send R. Moss on a hot route deep. Sure enough, they send like 7 guys at me, and I jus chuck up the fade and hold my breath....and....Moss come down with it! I drive down to about my 20 yard line. I have 3rd and 3. I run for a first down and get it, but Cadillac Williams fumbles and I recover it behind the marker...fourth and inches...I had already missed an extra point (kicking on all madden is pretty tough), and I had been running all over them (like 250 total yards). I thought my chances were better at getting the first than making the field goal. So of course they stuff me, and get the ball. Next play, play action pass to Givens on a fly down the sideline, beats my guy, and takes it in for the score..

I don't like Madden, and have only played it maybe twice in my life...NCAA or bust, I can't stand the bullshit Madden does....

The run AI is HORRIBLE for starters...

It's just not as thorough a game as college football to me...Madden used to be that deal back in the day, I don't know what happened...Everybody that I know that has played botn extensively says that they like CF better, but of course I guess that it varies...

Also, there is no running of the most awesome offense football has ever seen on Madden...The Option...

The Option is awesome but Madden is a pretty sweet game. lol..this is one of the longest posts by you Deeje. That sucks tho...I guess you shouldn't mess around when you're in the lead

A, the run AI is the same in Madden as it is in NCAA. Why would the same company make it different? And how can College be more thorough? You don't even have the players' name. The option is the only thing NCAA has goin for it. You cant even create plays in NCAA...wtf..

The running game isn't the same at all man...The buttons yeah, but that's where the similarities end man, truly...And what does having their names have to do with being thorough..? Shit man, the college game has all the D1 teams, and most if not all of the D1 AA teams...And beyond that, you can download the named rosters, which EA can't produce themselves legally...They have G.O.A.T. teams, School All Time teams, create a school, create a fan, create a recruit for crying out loud...

And what good is the create a play function in Madden..? In NCAA, you can put together your own playbook, that's good enough for me...No need for me to script plays, I wouldn't use the feature if it were there, really...That's why they have hot routes and audibles...

Plus, there aren't many variations you can do from your basic 2 back, sets in the NFL...There is no Wing T, no wishbone...Trips...There are formations in college that will never see the light of the pro game...And not just the option...Shit, when was the last time you saw a true WR screen in the pros..? The college game presents all types of offenses and defenses...Pass offenses, run offenses, west coast, etc...You have to give the dynamics of the game to NCAA on merit alone...There is nothing you can do in Madden that you can't do in NCAA, but that don't work both ways...

There's no variation in the the pro game...Most teams are running a version of the west coast offense, and that's it...Most teams are running a basic 4-3 defense...That's major boring shit to me...The college game presents more variations on gameplay than Madden by a long shot, and I'm not even touching the depth of the dynasty mode and the fact that you have athletes that can play both sides of the ball in college...The Heisman mode in 06 is legendary.....

If you just want to play the game, I guess its OK...But if you want to get into the game, as in sit down, read defenses and make plays, NCAA all the way Homez...

I dunno....I have both, and I prefer the gameplay of Madden. I think the running is slow and boring in the college game actually, whereas you have the hit stick and many other complexities in Madden. I think Madden plays smoother and faster too.

Also, in madden....if you fuck up, the computer will take advantadge for sure. If you wanna sit down and figure a game out...I think you'd have more fun doing it in madden, but thats only my opinion.

I liked NFL 2K5 better anyway...

I will just go ahead too and put it out there, my opinion is based plenty on the fact that I don't really care for the pro game, and have loved the college vesion since day 1...And I have only played Madden a few times as I said, and hated it...I had it for PC and uninstalled it, it just wasn't fun to me...I had like 04, played a dynasty, and like after the 4th season, it sucked...All the players were retiring and shit, LoL...I was like man this fucking sucks..!

The college game is built for that anonymous stardom, but the difference is you live to recruit new players...Every year you have to option to groom the next superstar....You could get your favorite team in NCAA, and never get tired of changing teams and rebuilding programs...

Agreed...the college game's dynasty's last for a long, long time without getting boring.....and I know you only dislike madden because you favor the college game....but its all personal preferrance with video games.
