So folks im always looking to listen to great music and always looking for something new or something that I havent heard before and im sure many of us are like that. So the essence of this particular thread is to recommend songs. I know that the jams thread does this very well but there are like posts in thur like once a month or something like that lol. This thread would also include the genre of the song and a little bit of why you like the song and some lines that are appealing to you from the lyrics.

Summary

1. Song Tittle- Artist/ band
2. Genre
3. Why you like it?
4.Some Lyrics that appeals to you
5. Maybe even the feel of the song.

So get on then recommend something to all of us.....

1. My Adidas/ Run DMC

2. Old Afta-Old-Skool

3. The lyrics mention Live-Aid the previous year, and their international tour, which brought rap world-wide notice. Run-DMC was the only rap group to play at the benefit concert, and the first to play ANY benefit concert. This was a major step toward rap's acceptance as music , as Run-DMC showed they were concerned about social causes just like the other artists who played, like Sade and Sting. This is also proved that rap was not just a form of music, but a lifestyle. In the years to come, hip-hop fashion spread to a wide audience. This was one of the first songs to rap about their clothing choices and the first to be based on specific clothing brands, which led to the importance of footwear in rap and the development of the first line of Rap-sponsored footwear.

4.me and my Adidas do the illest things
we like to stomp out pimps with diamond rings
we slay all suckers who perpetrate
and lay down law from state to state

ya'll hear me mention this song like twice a month or so...

This is a good idea for a thread Deepak...I try to hit up the jams thread, but I only do it when I'm listening to music...And when you got a 3 year old that repeats everything you say, you tend not to listen to music...

I'll give this one some thought, and get back to you...

now that Ty killed this thread, ima tryto resuscitate it.

1. Linkin Park & Jay-Z - Points Of Authority / 99 Problems / One Step Closer

2. fuck the Man and the bitch he rode in on rap-metal synergy.

3. One of the best underplayed songs from the Linkin Park Vs. Jay-Z. - the social issue of police profiling is hilighted.

I got two choices yall pull over the car or
Bounce on the devil put the pedal to the floor
Now i ain't tryin to see no highway chase with jake
Plus i got a few dollars i can fight the case
So i...pull over to the side of the road
And i heard 'Son do you know why i'm stoppin you for?'
Cause i'm young and i'm black and my hats real low
Do i look like a mind reader sir, i don't know
Am i under arrest or should i guess some mo?

1. Rise and fall .... Craig David and Sting

2. Not too sure but I think its R&B

3. Its about how success can lead someone to change and they realise what they are losing and by then it is just too late.

4.

Burnt all my bridges now I've run out of places,
And there's nowhere left for me to turn,
Been caught in comprimising situations,
I should have learnt,
From all those times I didn't walk away,
When I knew that it was best to go,
Is it too late to show you the shape of my heart,
