I'm Floridian; Don't Fuck With Me

I've got Good News and I've got Bad News.

Recently, the government of Florida managed to pull together to pass HB 0249, a law now commonly known as the "Stand Your Ground" law. This law provides for the following:

"A person, not engaged in an unlawful activity, who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so, to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself, herself, or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony."

So, finally, this Christmas, when we all leave our trailer parks and go to line up outside Walmart to score those cheap 40" TVs, and there is a riot when they finally open the doors, I can light you up like 2Pac when you get in my face.

Now, on to the bad news...

Quote: "I am really happy this law was passed and has finally been enacted. This country is increasingly loaded down with trailer trash and buttloving hippies who have no respect for anyone else or any decency to speak of, and it is about time that us vaginal-sex-havers took matters into our own hands to remedy the whole problem. For you decent folk who would come here to visit our fine attractions and to be courteous and polite and who would be civilized, we welcome you.

To the rest of you, I have only one thing to say to you: We are Floridians; Do Not Fuck With Us. "

My sentiments exactly. I have and carry 2 9MM pistols with me. I can and will use them.

I live out in the sticks, but I work in downtown Jax, so there have been occasions where I was comforted in knowing I had that additional protection were I to need it. About 6 weeks ago, some road-rage maniac tried to run me off the road, he whipped in front of me and jammed on his brakes trying to make me hit him, then when he pulled off, he didn't pull all the way off the road so I had to swerve around him again. Next thing I know, this asshole is following me all the way home. He was about 30 yards behind me when I pulled into my driveway to open the gate. Fortunately, at this point, I had my Browning Hi-Power out (I know, 9 mm is not all that high powered, but I've got 13 rounds and 2 extra clips). This chickenshit finally makes the smart move and whips around in a U turn and books out.

THAT'S why I carry.
