Can someone tell me where we can get a college fooball coach to replace Ron Schnook (Zook) at the University of Illinois?

Zook seems to be unable to coach anything, so send any applications to the Crying Illini. That's the fans, not the team.

Well, I can coach, but I can't be expected to keep my job regardless of performance until a "better" coach comes along......

I'll admit......the shit is racist.......117 D1 schools and 3 black head coaches.....that shit is terrible.

I am truly speechless.............

Shit, you just might be the best member here, that took balls.....Like, big huge, Mastadon balls...

Props...

And not that I think you're agreeing with me, I won't go that far to say you're doing that...But to be able to step outside the circle, if only but for a second, and in a bit of context, to see just a piece of the very much in tact good ole boy system...

Wow...

Like I was saying in the other thread, its not even all racism, when I say the good ole boy system...It is a combination of stereotypes and familiarity...You, as a young white male, are more likely to be comfortable around other young white males...If you are in a classroom setting and you guys are picking lab partners, you are more likely to pick a friend, or someone you know...You have more in common and things like that...That's not really racist...

The problem with that is it happens too often in other places...Like the NCAA...This is why the NFL makes it mandatory that owners interview a minority candidate...Its hard as fuck to get your foot in the door when all the people running the schools came right through the civil rights movement...And see two qualified candidates...Same credentials...Same ethic...And you be foreced to make a decision that will eventually boil down to acceptance...And that, is usually based on skin color...Basic, and unmistakeable...

Deepdiver is our friend, and he says his dad STILL has a chip on his shoulder...Luckily he didn't turn out that way, or we'd be missing out on one helluva poster the minute he figured I was a nigra... /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" /> There are people ALL over that have a racial bias...And they can be black or white...It's just that as things are, 0.03% is as good as it gets....

My dad is racist as hell..... and I'm not racist...shiit I play sports with and enjoy the company of a lot of black people....and by no means am I picking friends based on race...my two best guy friends..one is mexican and the other asain.....

However, sterotypes are there for a reason, they're true. I think black people do a lot of ignorant ass shit....but I also think white people are dumbasses and get themselves in more trouble than they need.........so I'm not racist one bit; however, I'm still completely against giving a minority an edge over an oppentent who is more qualified.

And I didn't know the breakdown was so ridiculous. I figured like...out of 117.....42 or something had black head coaches....but holy damn! 3 is downright corrupt.

Thanks for the props Ty. It means a lot to me to have a hugely diverse group of people I can call friends. Old/young, white/black/Hispanic/Asian... skin color/nationality make no difference to me. One of the best bosses I ever had was black and female. She had been through so much shit in her life, she made a concerted effort to be very fair in all her dealings with everyone. Getting to be rare nowadays.

My dad is still the prejudiced old SOB he always was (and probably always will be). It's said that parents teach through example and he did, both good and bad. I try to teach mine that the outside doesn't mean shit, it's the inside of a person that matters.

That statistic is disturbing as hell. I would have LIKED to have thought that here in the 21st century, we'd have come a little further than that.

QUOTE(Lost Ghost)I'm still completely against giving a minority an edge over an oppentent who is more qualified.

As am I..! I VERY rarely pull the racist card...I have had few personal experiences with race issue, but I've also been told I live a charmed life...I don't want to be given a job when I'm not qualified to do it, but the problem w/the good ole boy system is just as I said, you got a black guy and a white guy equally capable of doing a job, you tend to go with what is familiar to you...

I totally undertand and agree with stereotypes, its not like people make them shits up, but if you can't adapt to your enviroment, that's just being sour...IE, you live in a low crime area, you don't clutch your purse at the sight of the first black dude you see...And contrary to popular belief, every white person doesn't get unearned privledge that comes from being "the man"...Shit, nasty people are just nasty people, and don't usually give a shit what color you are...

But if your dad is racist LG, or maybe prejudice (racism is a pretty harsh word) imagine his age group, and the percentage that are like that, or share similar feelings...Imagine where they work, and the positions they hold...Think of your local, and state governments...How can your race, generation, and or culture be adequately represented by a 56 year old white man with an Ivy league education..? And then, try to figure out how he'd represent me...Check that top 100 richest people in the world list that I posted in Worldwide not too long ago...And see how far down you go before you get to a black dude...Some of the laws designed that are "pro minority" have lots of merit...I won't say they are implemented properly, however...Statistics show that if you and I are equally qualified, you will work and move up higher than me, not solely race related, but your likelyhood to reach a glass ceiling is not as great as mine...

That said, I don't mind working harder to get what I want, it builds character...So, I don't want to complain, or seem like I am complaining...But real recognize real...This life is not easy for anyone, no matter how you slice it...It is best to just aim for what you want, and not be weak about your goals...

@ deepdiver

I love this little site, if but for that reason you mentioned...I feel for you and your family when you say that your son was hurt...I worried about that...LG has an issue, I have genuine concearn...I'm happy for peeps that take and pass their tests, get new jobs...How hard would life be if you had to distinguish your friends and experiences by color...I love that we are all different, but have a common bond...Thats a great, great thing to me...Again, thank you both for spending some time here...

But anyway...

That coaching thing is only more retarded when you consider the caliber of black athletes coming out into the draft each year...I wonder if they can't get jobs coaching, or don't want them..? I wonder about all that stuff...I mean, is there no minority in the world capable of running a Fortune 500 company..? How exactly do these things happen..?
