Why would a team with Ahman Green want Reggie Bush?

The Question is who WOULDN'T want a multi purpose running and recieving threat the league hasn't seen since Marshall in his prime..?

Hmm.....I think this guy isn't as good as people think...

Well, He's amazing right now....but he's got the best O-Line...the best Defense...the best QB....the best WR's ....and USC plays shitty teams.......just because he can return 4 punts and run 3 80+ yard runs in a single game against the worst team in the Pac-10 doesnt mean this guy is gonna be an all-pro in the NFL.

I'll be interested to see what he does against Texas.....then to see how he does as a rookie......I think he's the typical guy who looks fast because hes playing against slow oppetents..

He is a GREAT college player........but so was Christain Lattner (I know...different sport...but the fact remains)

You could say the same thing about Emmitt Smith...Played behind what was possibly the greatest offensive line of all time, and racked up a shitload of yards doing it...You aren't all pro at any postion, and your supporting cast be shit...

I'm not even looking at those components when I'm evaluating him...The Pac-10 doesn't suck that bad, that a man can outrun an opponent that is coming at him on an angle by 15 yards...The way he moves in space is tremendous...I'm not sure what you're looking at, and thinking that he can't make it...You can share that w/me if you like, but if it is simply looking at the things around him, thiking that the reason he looks so good is cause everyone else is so bad, that's no argument...

There are busts in every sport...Christian Laettner was my dude, I remember watching the game when he hit that shot on Kentucky, but...Nobody was raving on him being all that in the league...If you can recall, they were giving him shit about being on the Dream Team...He has lived up to his expectations...

Harold Minor...Not that was a fucking bust...Tremendous college player, lit up the Pac-10 like it wasn't nobody's business, and stunk it up his entire time in the league...

But, the evaluation process for football and basketball...Completely different...Might I remind you that the current best running back in the NFL played among some of the shittiest teams in the world while at TCU, so........

Yeah...and even though he played with a shitty team he excelled......

Emmitt Smith proves my point.....I could run for 1000 yards a season behind that line...with that passing game....

The players who excell on shitty teams against great oppentents are the ones who, in my opinion are already in an advantadge going into the league. Reggie Bush is a great college player, I just think that players of his type....the do-it-all guys...the atheletes...are the ones who are prone to less success.

It's like the college football games.......Reggie Bush is an athelete......he might have a higher rating at RB than at WR.....but because he's spread between those two positions...he might not be as good at the one where he'll play as say.....Lendale White.

I'm using bad analogies and such (im in school and got a big test next period)....I'm just saying lets not tout this guy around as the next Walter Payton just because he's getting 500 yards against Frenso State......and yeah, you can say "BUT THEY WERE RANKED".....yeah but how many of those guys out there missing tackles all over the place adn slipping off R. Bush are gonna be in the NFL..

K...You just lost me...

RB and LT are in the same predicament...Good team, less than spectacular opponents...I'm asking you what makes you believe RB couldn't be trill on the next level...

And...Did you just say...That (pure) athletes are prone to LESS success in the league..? Nah, I couldn't have read that shit...Let me see...

Antwaan Randle-El...Matt Jones...Hines Ward...Champ Bailey..Charles Woodson...Deion Sanders...Marshall Faulk...

K...Now you give me your list of excellent college athletes that put up big numbers and flopped in the NFL...Athlete being the operative word here...Not a pure RB or WR who got to the league and was shit...

.....Dude...you aren't serious. You just named 7 guys and you honestly think that it would be hard to name 7...even probably heisman winners.....who flopped in the nfl..

you'll never win the success/flop arguement....so many more are prone to retire nameless....or just be cut.

Pure Athletes I think are less prone because they have no secruity in their position....while yes they will probably make the team becasue they do good at a couple places....they may never be great in any one position....spreading themselves to thin you see....

I'm not trying to come out and say REGGIE BUSH WILL FAIL IN THE NFL.....I'm just saying...let's wait and see how he plays against people who are of his calibur. (the NFL)

and in that statement alone, I am declaring Reggie Bush of NFL calibur, but I dont think we're gonna see any 531 all purpose yards in the NFL.

Just like Bill Walton....the man was AMAZING in college....21-22 in the championship game.....and this was the CHAMPIONSHIP game.......if people drop 70 points on shitty teams.....that doesnt mean that they will even drop 10 in the NBA....

sorry.....I'm always going to return to basketball....its my roots.

QUOTE(Lost Ghost)even probably heisman winners.....who flopped in the nfl..

Sir, Charles Woodson was the first 2 Way player to win the Heisman...I'd hardly call him an NFL flop...All the other people that have one the heisman have done so being position players...Notice, I said:

QUOTE(AYHJA)Not a pure RB or WR who got to the league and was shit...

Hines Ward played every skill position on the field while at Georgia...And you could make the argument that he is the most complete reciever in the NFL...

There aren't even very many 2 way players in NCAA anymore...They are rare...But pure athletes always get a look, even if it is to go to another position...They may not be stars, but they are more than competent players...Scott Frost, a Nebraska option QB, made a life in the league playing safety...Kinda hard to call him a flop, when he plays NFL football at a new position...Matt Jones is a 6'6\" WR catching balls one handed in Jacksonville...He was a full time college QB at Arkansas, and his numbers were not that nice...I do believe he was at least a 1st or 2nd rounder...

QUOTE(Lost Ghost)Reggie Bush is a great college player, I just think that players of his type....the do-it-all guys...the atheletes...are the ones who are prone to less success

Then I challenge you to name 3 great multi-purpose players that have been absolute busts in the NFL...Even marginal will work...

I can save you some trouble by saying this:

They are not calling Reggie Bush "El Presidente" because he is putting up gaudy numbers playing on the best team in the land...Its how he's doing it...If he gets to the NFL and is on a bad team, he will be a good player...With a good team, he will be a great player...If he gets to the NFL somehow on a great team, he will be a phenomenal player...
