Google vs MSN

Hmm...Had you asked me this a little while ago, I might have said Google, hands down...

But now, I'm not so sure...As you all know, I have a million websites...many of them I have simply for the purposes of learning more about how search engines work...Like Google for example...

Thanks to Zen, I was one of the first people on the web made aware of the beauty Kayden Kross...

I made this post on 17 January 2006 on the AYHJA Blogger...
http://blogger.ayhja.com/2006/01/hustler.html

It is the #2 search result on MSN, as it should be...The information is relevant, the girl's name is there...ETC...
linky

But on fucking Google, it is slipping beyond the third page:
linky

Even searching for AYHJA is tricky in Google, right now, the forum doesn't even show on the first page of hits...In MSN, it's all over...Google just brings up a bunch of forum profiles and shit...I'm more confused than ever now about how this shit works...

Sigh...

I have ran a few more sample searches, and turns out, MSN is pulling better results...I think Google has gotten too big for their own good...

Well, for most of my searches, MSN ain't pulling it, but Google's pretty bad too (at least aquabeta.net comes up 1st over there, LoL)
I've tried a bit of Yahoo, and that seems to be getting the results I need..

Dunno about anyone else though

google is horrible for searching. the reason it didn't show until the third page is it only indexes the first few 100 kb of a webpage, and doesn't allow nested content searches.

it doesn't even allow a true boolean search. yahoo is infinitely better than google, and uses the same back bones, and you can search for far more content types.

yahoo is handy when you are look up governmental notices in pdf format on Midwest Independent Service operator rulings with a focus on environmental impact as opposed to ERCOT unregulated texas generation capacities. Google is useless, imho.

this is the absolute best http://search.yahoo.com/search/options?fr=fp-top&p= for my professional and technical needs.

I've always used Google but that's because it's the most common and I've assumed it was the best. I guess I'll have to look at other search engines to figure out which one works best for me

I have always used more than one search engine, but I had no idea Google was stinking up the place...Long ago, Yahoo was more of a directory than a search engine, that must have changed...

So far, we have the majors, or rather, those I use the most:

http://www.AYHJA.com/
http://www.msn.com/
http://www.Yahoo.com/
http://www.altavista.com/

Altavista is pretty good, and what I used before I switched over to Google...Shit, I might just have to change the portal over to Yahoo...

I reckon Google is rigged.

People probably PAY to have their sites listed, or NOT listed.

I reckon that Playboy has a deal with Google to only bring up their ring of decoy sites (under the PlayboyPLUS site) in the first 10 pages, so folks won't be able rip stuff.......... The thing is it sucks when trying to find info on pb models and stuff....

I still use Google alot of the time, but I'm getting increasingly pissed off with it. When I first started on the Internet I used Metacrawler, and Altavista. I also used Anzwers.com.au, but I think that bombed out as it used Inktomi, which I think is dead now.. Google started to spread around and I found it quite useful. I've also used www.Ixquick.com, which provided quite small but unique search results.

But I've noticed ever since late 2004, Google has been getting quite crap......suspiciously crap.................

For technical stuff I usually search the online journal sites like Ingenta, ScienceDirect, Blackwell-Synergy etc., mainly research stuff.
