World Cuisine
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally speaking, I am a lover of food. And over the course of my life, I've eaten many strange and, sometimes, wonderful things. Hell, I still enjoy the occasional bowls of menudo for breakfast...(when it's fresh, with a little extra onion, oregano, and a squeeze of lemon... OMG!)
That being said, there are some things I would rather NOT eat if I don't have to. Take my recent experience in the UK....
The setting:
It's been a long morning of training. System problems have kept us on edge and we are pushing through as best we can. I'm frustrated, tired, and hungry....
I head to the cafateria and order a double BLT. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't had a BLT in a while and I do so love them....
@ First Glance:
I take a big bite of my sandwhich and as I set it down, I notice what appears to be a sauteed mushroom stuck to the bread. No big deal... I like mushrooms...
A closer look:
As I am setting the sandwhich down, the "mushroom" falls off and then does something no mushroom I have ever seen do...it straightens out and starts to crawl...
That's right, ladies and gents, it was not a shroom but a slug. I closed the lid, took it back, and got a refund. But not before my co-worker snapped this pic of me and my slug...
the Pic:
I look like crap, but that's because I was coming off of a night/morning of drinking with some Scotts... fond mammories..errr...I mean memories!!! But that's another story for another day... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
