Internet Explorer...Why..?

Why do people still insist on using IE..? I'm curious...Everytime I read an issue here on the forum, it is IE related...Can't see links, can't download, Active X, etc...Granted, some sites require IE to view (thank God for the Firefox IE view extension) but wow...Whenever there is an issue with the forum, its almost explicitly linked to IE...I mean, everytime...People are having issues, and I'm like WTF?, until I realize that everyone isn't on the Mozilla bandwagon...Some folks use it cause that's all they have at work and such, which is understandable...But some fellows swear by the IE...

I used to be an IE fanatic myself...I actually paid for apps, just so IE could look cute and be functional...But the minute someone mentioned Firefox, and I tried it, IE is but a memory...Granted, Firefox is far from perfect...But it is leagues ahead of IE...And with any new app, there is a learning curve, but in exchange for everyone being on the same page, I'd entertain every question about Firefox asked, no matter how simple...

And I'm not picking on nobody, but I read a shitload of issues...One fellow new to the site, said he tried to login 5 times before he finally got on, and his first thought was..."Something is wrong with this forum..." Eh...While that may be true, how about the fact that for the most part, IE is shit..? That MIGHT have something to do with it, yes..? I have not had a trojan, browser jack, or none of that...

Any regular IE user knows automatically what those things are, cause at some point, you've downloaded something to fix it...Toolbar issues and such...Just a list of shit...My problem w/Firefox is that its a memory hog...That's it...I couldn't even tell you where to start to do such a list for IE...

So, what gives..?

I used to use IE just because I wasn't aware of anything better. When a friend told me about FF, I decided to give it a try. I haven't looked back since.

What is this IE thing you speak of?

It seems vaguely familiar but at the same time a distant memory.

I used IE before mainly out of ignorance, but once I got to this site and you've ranted about how good FF is, I've switched and won't go back. I try to get my friends to use FF because it's so much easier, but a lot of them just dont' want to change

Meh I only use IE when I have to. I have msn explorer which makes it easier for me to access my mail and stuff. But yeah I have been using FF a lot recently.

I've only used IE when it was the only browser installed on the computer I'd be using.

In fact, the first browser I ever used was Netscape Navigator, in 1998. I immediately swore by it and would always advocate its use. Once in 2002 I had a go at IE and BAM! straightaway I got hit by a computer virus! After cleaning that up I never went back....and now with Firefox I stick by it all the way (even though it's crashed a fair amount of times lately, and I've found it too to clam up the RAM).

I even know COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS and Network/Database managers who use IE! fucken crazy!!!!
