A lot of people their freshmen season in college play better than the runner up heisman winner their senior season..

all that did was show that Vick was worse than Young when he was a freshman and Young was a senior....the numbers shouldnt even be CLOSE....

you do what you always do.......you only read the part of the post you disagree with....then you post against it....and forget to mention anything else......

OK...Since I'm just picking shit out of your posts to disagree with, a simple yes or no will suffice...

QUOTE(Lost Ghost)Vick and Young had comparable college numbers

Is this an accurate statement..?

You see what I'm saying..? Your whole post was based on that shit, why read it all..? Vick and VY not even in the same league...I said Vick had subpar numbers in college...

Aren't they..?!?!?

YOU threw that shit out there, not me...And then you throw some wrong shit out there to back up what you're saying...Ridiculous...And then, you come with:

So.....is that an ignorant statement I hear from Ayhja?!?!

Are you...Fucking serious...? You call my statements ignorant...Cool...But...What are your statements...? Do I really not know what I'm talking about..? You can't talk to people like that, especially me, without knowing what the hell you're talking about...You couldn't even back up what you were saying Homez, and you say SO MUCH shit...

And then, rather than say, "My bad, I didn't look it up," you keep trying to defend it...And that's just insolent...

Yeah....I didn't look up what year Vick won the damn thing....tahts not the point....the point is that people immediatly assume that Young is better just becasue he won the effiencey for passing in his college career.....when Vick did the same thing...and yet people continue to say that Young is just like Vick but actually can throw..........this thread wasn't an argument against you....its against all these Vick haters.....

I'm sorry...I just don't understand...

That is just a bad comparison, and an even worse assumption...I am confused...When you say people immediately assume Young is better cause he lead the nation in passing efficiency this year, like Vick did his freshman season...Who are you talking about.? Who said that..?

I know I knew Vick had shit numbers in college...It's not hard to be efficient when you're throwing 12 passes a game in the big east...And even then, he only completed about half of them...To even mention Vick leading the nation in passing efficiency as a mark of his being great is a tremendous overstatement...

Vince Young BEASTS those numbers...In every way...He's better...Because...He's better...WTF..? He's taller, stronger, and a shade slower...6'5", 230+, 4.4-5 40 yard dash with touch..? I'll take it...

I'm not hatin' on Vick, shit, I'm a Falcons fan...What he does on the field is crazy sick...But, given the choice between him and Vince..? I'm takin' Vince right now...You mentioned it in another thread....How about you try this:

An athlete getting by with exceptional physical ability...

Sounds an aweful lot like a college QB w/subpar numbers getting into the league cause he got 4.3 speed and a booming ass arm...

Whatchu think..? How about you head to this spot:
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235253

Take a look at them numbers...Last season, 25 NFL Quarterbacks had more yards, 23 had more touchdown passes, and 20 had a better passer rating...And sure, you can say that the Falcons didn't have a bonafied #1 reciever, but what was the problem in college..? Those numbers are eerily consistent across the board since Vick stepped into the national spotlight in 1999...

Anybody ever read Bill Simmons' articles on ESPN.com? This is what he wrote during the national championship game about Young:

Let's be honest -- there's no way Vince can succeed in the NFL with that throwing motion. It's impossible. It can't happen. I'm telling you. There has never been a successful NFL quarterback who threw like that. And by "that," I mean, "throws like someone who just realized they have dog poop on their hand and is trying to fling it off."

Young may be a stud, but he won't last in the NFL as a quarterback unless he learns how to throw like a man!

You know, actually...I agree with you. Not only does his throwing motion suck, he was part of a gimmick offense that NEVER had him line up under center. He played a hybrid position in College and it won't transfer to the Pros.

All that being said, he is a phenominal athlete that will succeed in the NFL.....at a different position.

He doesn't throw sidearm like P. Rivers.....his throwing motion is unique.....and he just needs to get with a great QB coach and work on it....and he'll be fine.

Well, I mentioned Philip Rivers only in the context of awkard throwing motion...I think that 1, he will be drafted to play QB...And the minute it is discovered that he either doesn't mind playing another postion, or can't find a fluid way to throw the ball, he could be Matt Jones...

I think he showed enough in college to believe that he could succeed in a system that worked to his stregths...If Doug Flutie is one of the best QB's I've ever seen play the game when nobody thought he could, Vince Young could play some NFL QB...Shit, he MIGHT be playing it for the Lions Rim...

I'd take that funky throwing motion and some wheels much faster than ole Harrington and co., eh..?
