Your link doesn't work, but I'm assuming you're referring to the Canadians killed in Afghanistan.
""At about 1 p.m. this afternoon, a car deliberately crashed into a vehicle in a Canadian convoy about 200 meters from the city gates in Kandahar, outside the department for transportation," Wahidi said.
"This was definitely a suicide attack. The car was filled with ammunition. The attacker was blown to pieces, and so far, we have been unable to identify him.""

Right now Canada has 650 soldiers in Afghanistan. Canada will also be sending more JTF troops, if they haven't been deployed already.

I just learned that Canada will be increasing its troop levels to 2,200 in Feb.
We have troops working in and around Kandahar and Special Forces hunting down al-Qaeda.

my link doesn't work...
hmm.
it was about the coming focus of Canadian forces in Afghanistan... and how they will in combat they have no experience with... including the suicide attack on the envoys that has recently happened.

Good...let's get some Canadians killed instead of Americans

trash, that comment typifies why I left the left coast.
The Canadians have been good allies to us, and have humoured our "cousin-like" humour for a good while,.. but to imply they are insignificant, or preferential in sacrifice to the military efforts in operation than "our boys" is far more offensive. That is a statement worthy of a cock-punch.
The only reason to make a comment lie that is if you are having difficulty dealing with a particular loss due to the human casualities in combat, and then it is still ignorant and passable as a sign of frustration, but not excusable.

Being as how I have family members both in Iraq and Afghanistan, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm extremely glad we have allies who are willing to put their lives on the line beside our men and women not because it decreases the odds that our people will be injured or killed, but because that's what friends do. And the Canadians are our friends. Of course we have differences, that's normal, but when it matters, we stick together.
