In their defense, one of their key defensive players was out of the game...But I don't think it would have mattered, Smith scorched asses their first time around if I'm not mistaken...I'm not so sure if it is as much bad defense, as it was a poor scheme...Chicago was very much in the game, in fact, their offense wasn't that stagnant...Just too much Steve...Too many defenders falling, too many blown coverages...I don't recall that Carolina ran the ball well, and I remember several big hits...But anytime 1 guys murders your team like that...Damn...Then again...

I think the problem isn't that they are over or underrated, its that they are in Chicago...And any defense is going to draw comparisons to the 85 Bears D, which might be the best ever the game played...Maybe more than any other NFL city except SF and Dallas, Chicago has cast some big fucking shadows...If that defense was in Phoenix playing like that, they'd be called overachievers...

As far as forumlating an argumentative post, LG...Look at it like this...First post, and your first reply...Rim responded with facts and statistics...He pretty much proved his point by saying the Bears were an overrated TEAM...
You made no attempt to respond to that in a fashion that I personally would have found satisfactory...Somebody comes at you with a statistic...That is logical and makes sense...
Why would you come back with an analogy..?

and the fact that you consider yourself a sports man...and you've never been in a single debate in the forum since it started about any sports just tells you why I'm thinking that........
There is no possible reason as to how someone can be involved in sports talk and never get into a debate or have afflicting positions.....so whats your excuse?
either you agree with both sides......or you never come back to the thread once the debate starts.....or you show up after the dust has cleared and say "yeah see LG....he proved stats...so I agree !"...how come you're never providing stats and getting involved?
I guess it has nothing to do with your mental capacity...but grow some back bone and get in these dicussions before you critize how someone else does it...
