What the fuck is with politics these days? You have the Palestinians voting a terrorist group into office. You have several Republicans involved in scandals. The Canadian Liberal government wasted roughly $100 million in the Sponsorship Scandal. You have the RCMP investigating two more scandals involving the Liberal Party.
It doesn†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢t matter where you look; it†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢s scandal, scandal, scandal!
Add to that the polarization of politics: liberals and conservatives, left and right.
This is seriously one of the darkest eras of politics. I just hope that the newly elected Conservative government over here can bring forward positive change.
I can†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢t handle any more scandals, corruption, injustices†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™¢¢¬…¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¦ it†™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¾¢‚¬Å¡‚¢s getting to be too much.
Does anyone else feel this way? Is anyone disgusted with the current state of politics?
When will it end?

I've been dejected from teh door, but I'd be lying if I said that I could validate that...I've always assumed politics has always been right where you said it would be, which is why I never bothered iwth trying to become involved in it...Seemed pointless to me, and though I am more familiar with it...I'm still kinda hangin on to that...

I've been involved in local level politics in the past (campaign manager for a friend who was running for County Treasurer) and saw the deciept and down right lying that occured at that level. I also did some work for one of the SC Representatives back in the 80s and it was even worse. The higher up you go, the more money and power is involved. It gets increasingly nastier as you move from local, to state, to national level politics. I don't think I'll ever get involved in a campaign again... it's too upsetting for me to see the selling out of ideals to "buy" votes and yes, that happens more than you might want to think. I've voted in every election I was able to and will continue to vote; if only so I can bitch about the people that end up in office. I really do believe that if you CAN vote, and don't, you have no right to complain about who is in office.
