Hmm......Rim....name me 10 guys in the league right now at running back you'd rather have...and be serious...none of that bullshit you through out in the NBA thread.
You claim SA is the softest in the league based on what? The Seahawks losing? I didn't know losing a superbowl makes everyone on the team terrible..esp the MVP of the league who broke a record for TD's this season..unless of course you are just giving me crap as always about shit that you can't back up statistically.
Statistically...the Seahawks had an advantadge in the running game....did they execute that in the game...NO. is that my fault? No. Does that make me wrong in saying they had an advantadge? No. Did the Steelers do better? Yes.

First off LG....you are a fucking dope. Why would you ask me to name you 10 fucking players I'd rather have than SA? Most people would say "Name me 1...maybe 2 people better", but you...you ask for 10....you're a retard....you want me to PROVE that statistically? With the trail of incoherent rants you've posted throughout this forum.....it would be really easy.
Shit.....I even gave the wink to you in my previous post.....meaning I was kidding with you or joking around so to not look into it.....but NOOOO you have to come running in here all pissed off cuz shit didn't go your way....you have some pretty serious insecurities.......is there a bigger, faster, better person in your life that you can't quite live up to or are you or are you just normally a fucking asshole? IMO, you're not normally an asshole, so my suggestion would be you need to man up to whoever is making you feel like the pussy you are and tell him in your best bitch voice....to "quit it" and then for good measure....hit him with your purse.
Back to SA:
I didn't say he was terrible.......I said he was soft as in NOT a put you head down and run people over kind of back, just soft...the kind of guy that'll get you 95 of the QUIETEST yards in the biggest game of his life....I don't know but I would have expected the League MVP and the guy that set the single season TD mark to do a little more......that's all. I'd still love to have him on my team, but wouldn't want to have to rely on him to take a team on his back...

Shaun Alexander is a good back...Not a great one...How did the Seahawks have an advantage..? And on 1 season's worth of work, he says this...Again, he is their only option to score with the run...Of course he's supposed to have that many touchdowns, nobody else is touching the ball...
I said it before, the advantage was with the Steelers...No team in the NFL has rushed for more yards than the Steelers have this past decade...I think they know how to run the ball, despite what Seahawks fans think about their MVP...Dude is not a hard nosed, tough, wear down defenses type back...AKA..."Soft"...Dude, nobody wanted to tackle Jerome Bettis 30 times a game...Nobody likes tackling that kid from the Ravens, that just as soon run over you as he will around and past you...
Shaun Alexander had a decent performance last night...But you offered up some stats about the Steelers D, when they pretty much shut the Seahawks down, AND outrushed them...Its hard to see how you were asking why everyone picked the Steelers, when if you had been watching football, it would be obvious...
Was to me at least...

Each of you makes some good points, and some crummy ones.
First, the notion that SA is "soft" is just BS. No one who plays a 16-game NFL schedule and leads the league in rushing is "soft." That's just one of those BS Internet terms people toss aorund to incite, like "overrated." It means nothing. He's not tough or hard-nosed? WTF? So you're saying most players enjoy tackling SA? Funny that so many of them seemed to miss the chance. And what happened to Pittsburgh's epitome of tough, hard-nosed play? Did Joey even suit up?
Second, SA isa great back, but great backs aren't really a rarity, great O-lines are, and Seattle's is great. Look at Denver and Pittsburgh. They both have great lines, and get exellent production from almost any RB to whom they hand off. Carolina too.
Third, Pittsburgh didn't "shut down" shit. Hasselbeck threw poorly often, Stevens dropped balls all over the field, and Holmgren called a crummy game. SA was pushing the ball four and five yards on almost every carry, but Holmgren wouldn't stay with it. Instead he tried to "exploit" the Steelers' secondary, which played brilliantly.
As for the Steelers, they got almost half of their rushing yards on one play, which was easily their best, most legitimate, play of the game. Almost everything else Pittsburgh accomplished came on some outrageous play by Roethlisberger, or via official gift. After that, their running game did a nice job of closing.
Alexander is a free agent now, but I don't think he's going to have teams lining up to offer him the sky, as I'm sure he believes. If I'm the Seahawks, I'm more concerned about re-signing Steve Hutchinson, Jurivicious, Manuel, and a few others.

In football terms, soft doesn't mean that the guy likes delicate clothing and smooth jazz...SA doesn't hit the hole and blow it up like nobody's business...He is not a between the tackles runner...He is not about to be draggin' dudes, buckin' 'em down...He's a soft runner...No shame in that...
/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
But Hasslebeck played his ASS off man...He made 1 bad throw that I saw...And it got picked off...Seattle was just fucking lost or confused or something, shit did you see Holmgren after the first half..? She asked him about the last play of the game, and he was talking about a play that was 2 plays old...
They didn't stick with anything that was working...Dude broke a record for most catches in a quarter...And then didn't catch another ball till the 4th...SA had a quiet game, but that's cause when he got dropped for a loss a couple times, he got taken out of the game...Pittsburgh had a game plan...But Ben had his worst game of the Playoffs...Bottom line, like you said, they made the plays...
Also, I predicted the trick play potential, and you guys almost ran me outta the thread...Memba..? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Ike, I didn't mean "soft" in a derogatory way...Like I said, I think he is a quality back.....it's probably more of a compliment to his running style.....when he runs he looks to do it effortlessly. My only gripe with him is he doesn't give me that 3 yards in a cloud of dust feel like a Terell Davis did....
I do agree with you 100% about the "O" line and do feel that should be their number one concern in the off season. With that intact and the Division they play in....who knows, they could have another 20+ TD RB there next year.

Lol...so true so true
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"
