Guys forget that had it not been for teams hesitant to draft a black QB, we might be looking at the most prolific passer ever...Guy spent 5 or 6 years in the CFL before finally getting his NFL shot...Congrats to him, and the other great guys that have made it to the hall this year, including Reggie White, Troy Ainkman, and John Madden...

Agreed....Moon was a very great ballplayer whose race stood in the way. I have a lot of respect for him because he isn't bitter about it. Some black QB's today like to use the race card....when they don't know what the disadvantagdes really are....no one is hesitating to draft them or say they're a good player. Moon had to prove himself beyond a lot of lesser players of the oppisite race...and yet, he doesn't pull out the card. He is gracious regardless of how good he could have been...he had one helluva career..and he deserves it.
I heard that a couple of Raiders players said that John Madden actually held them back from winning more superbowls than they could have, and that he wasn't that great of a coach. Based on his sideline commentary..I wouldn't doubt that. He is the face of the NFL however, so it is only fitting that he gets in.
Reggie White...still R.I.P. what an admirable character. Kids looking for a sports figure for a role model....theres one for ya.
I regret that I don't often catch the cerimonies on T.V....but the HOF inductions are always very great to watch....how grateful these players, who we as fans have held high in the clouds...putting our faith in them every sunday to deliver for us, are towards everything.
These are honorable people...and I'm glad they have continued to demonstrate a positive that is lacking in sports today.

So what about Michael Irvin? Don't you think he deserved it? I really think he did. He played great and has what 2 or 3 Super Bowls
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

I think there is a bit of snubbing going on in Irving's case, the cocaine incident, the crack pipe, etc...He'll get in, but it may not be anytime soon...

He didn't win those Super Bowls. Emmitt Smith, the OL and the Cowboys defense did. I don't recall seeing him get Super Bowl MVP ever. Plus his low class decisions off the field were highly negative. Showing up to court looking like a pimp? WTF?

John Madden is the face of the NFL...I don't know about his actual skill level as a coach, but I still wanna ride in the Madden bus for Thanksgiving...I followed Michael Irvin since he was a Hurricane...AN ILLUSTRIOUS RECEIVER, NO DOUBT! However, "Cocaine is a powerful drug", right? Much love to the rest of the inductees...
