Tell me some of the pros and cons of the ones that you use...
The reason being, AYHJA has hooked up a relationship with http://www.storeandserve.com/ ...They are interested in building a better service, and as a result, AF could get a really sweet deal from them...So first, go and register for an account, not only is it free, it allows for a faster download speed and managed file space...
But anyway, these are the things that I came up with to improve...
[hr:8790b96917]
Simple Upload Tool (no graph for Mac or other users with browser problems)
File Descriptions -
Folder Support
Multi-upload
Referral Banner
Upload Resume via Standlone Application - (Kind of like RapidUp, but their own tool)
Life Time Storage for Premium (100 GB)
Affiliate program for sites to get greater speeds - For instance, if AF is an affiliate, any links clicked from here get an added bonus in speed
Premium User: File download stats (what sites are clicking the links, where the downloads are coming from, last date downloaded - dont make your own downloads count)
Updated File Change Alerts (notifies users of changes when new files in folders are posted or a file is replaced and new file is put in place so old links refer to the new file).
Folder or File Password Protection
Direct File Linking
Mega Storage Access (1/4 1/2 1 TB, 2 TB 5 TB 10 TB)
Multi-languages
SSL Based Logins (optional to login, upload and download using SSL)
General API
Windows Upload Tools with Resume
PHPBB Module

I know us uploaders are always looking for a better service... being a Network Admin I know the constraints of having a free service. Bandwidth is becoming cheaper and cheaper by the day but it still costs. Rapidshare has pissed me off to no end. When they had their other service (the name escapes me right now) everything was great. All of a sudden they killed it and starting charging people. No warning or anything. It's your business and you do with it as you may know. All I ask for is fair warning... I'll go ahead and sign up and see how it goes...

I think you are talking about Qfile...Damn shame, I think RS bought them out...
I think you'll like SandS, its managed file hosting space is already beyond RapidShare's...I'm going to get on the bandwagon...I'll post on the MVP....

I'm not what one would call a "Power Uploader" by any means. I don't usually post huge amounts of files at once. I have used RS and S&S both as a "free user" meaning I am the lowest on the totem pole when downloading or uploading. I haven't had too many issues with either one when uploading stuff, the speed seems to be pretty equitable. Downloading, I've had some problems here at work with S&S, it seems to hang about halfway through the dl and locks up the browser. I don't know if it's due to a network or firewall issue (and I'm not going to ask my IT dept. to clear it up for me, LOL). RS doesn't have that problem for whatever reason.
All the suggestions listed above sound great. Anytime we can upload/download quicker, more effieciently, and with less hassle, its GOOD!
And if anyone can suggest solutions to the S&S problem described above, I'm open to suggestions. BTW, it's not an issue at home, S&S works great for me there, it's just here at work.

as if I am going to be able to come up with something that isnt on that list....heh, only thing I could add is they could provide an attractive asian female to "take care of my needs" while I use their service.
heh, seriously....just let me have ftp upload access and dont make me wait between the time I originally clicked the link and when I can actually get a live url to download and I am a happy camper.

Yeah, I've been using SandS for a while now. Great speeds and 100MB is nice.
If any links are down, please send me a PM!
