Centrino Equivalent

#1

Post by cs_cdkey4 »

Hey every1,

Im looking at getting a 1.73Ghz Centrino Laptop and was wondering if the equivalent is a 3.4ghz P4 desktop. i've read a couple of sites and they say u just double the speed and some others say its just under the double amount and is around 3ghz.

Hopefully work is gonna pay for it....

thanks in advance for your input.....

I thought the Centrino was the wireless networking technology thingy, not the actual laptop computer system? isn't it?

I have the answer you need...

Advanced Micro Devices...

Seeing as that you haven't bough the machine yet, it still isn't too late for you..! AMD is mopping the floor with Intel, and you can probably get a laptop with a 64 bit chip in it much less than you can any of that Intel bullshit...Don't do it..! I don't know shit about Intel chip, and I'm a hardware guy, other than that I wouldn't buy one...

count me as another amd fan.

i also have a laptop with a centrino bs in it, works well enough and the power saving of the pentium M is nice, but i still like the "feel" of amd products much better.
