Wireless Adapter

#1

Post by Bot »

I can't hook up my internet. I'm working with a wireless adapter right now. The modem and router are on the shitty computer downstairs.

The router is a netgear. The adapter is a D-Link, DWL-G122 A1 to be specific. Does anyone know how I can get the router to acknowledge the adapter?

I can't seem to find any boxes or instructions or CDs... I can't find anything for either piece of equipment.

First one to give me a working solution will get a BJ from a hooker named Candy. lol

i would suggest you download the program NetStumbler to see if you even have a signal where you are. then you need to start looking if your computer upstairs is getting the signal and check the SSID and WEP/WPA settings.

what os are you using?

I'm using Windows XP right now.

I was able to find the driver for the adapter. I installed it on my comp, but unfortunately I can't remember what settings I'm supposed to put in. I really wish I could remember what I did with the papers...

As long as you agree with your part of the deal with Candy.. /:D" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt=":D" />

Uh, Windoze recognises the device right..? Just the configuration?
Also, when scanning for networks, does ANYTHING come up, or can you see your own network if it does..

(sorry for the questions, I just need more detail to be able to help ya, lol)

Good that you got it going. Since you fixed it by yourself you can send Candy my way.
