It ain't that many black reps, and I bet not that many black female reps, how the fuck don't he know who she is..? He was being a bit too overzealous I think...

"Gainer said race was not an issue and that he has seen officers stop and question white, black and Latino members of Congress. He added that officers are given photos of new members of Congress, but with 30,000 employees in the Capitol complex and more than 9 million visitors a year, officers have "to make sure we know who is coming in the building.""

Yo Ty.

She hit a cop, not EVER admissable.

This COP is there to defend 435 members of congress, 14 of which are black females. They get tens of thousands of visitors a day, many who try to cause disruption or seek to by pass the "first-come/first-serve" volunteer tours. He is not expected to "recognize" her and allow her to pass. He is expected to SCRUTINIZE everyone. THIS is our Capitol. We know this was a potential target for flight 93. It is the one target they missed. (she says 535 members, for some reason)

but these police have something else on the brain: safety of our appointed representatives.

The last time someone actually got by, they killed two officers trying to get to congress members. One was literally diverting lethal gunfire from a congressman in his office, and died in the room. These men have specific cues. The patrol over 500,000 square feet a day. They DO NOT have "static posts"... they switch up constantly. to keep all officers from falling into routine.

There are only certain things that can you past these Officers of the Law. One of which is a pin they need to be admitted to Congressional assembly. This is the BADGE of a congress member. Can a cop walk a beat without a shield? NO.

Even the president has a shield to get around the Capitol building.

She did not have hers. This happens sometimes. They identify themselves, and ask for permission. This is radioed through a Security Dispatch, and they are allowed to pass. She ignored the cop and went around the metal detector. NO Congress person does this. Then he called for her three times, and she continued to ignore him. They know better. Not just because it could be dangerous, but because PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE, and Order has to be maintained. She is a representative, and must act accordingly, or no one will act accordingly.

Even if he did recognize her, he still has to authorize it. In my hospital we had several people on the maternity floor who never wanted to wear badges a female doctor (white) and a male doctor (latino) and a female nurse (black). you needed a badge on the floor. PERIOD. With that kind of security, there were problem childred. The black female ALWAYS tried to get by, and refused to stop until we got in her face, and then not-so-silently accused the officer on duty of being racist. She honestly did not get it that if we let her go unchallenged, everyone else tried to pour out on the floor and not sign in. She would go on about how racist we were, which EVEN BLACK OFFICERS challenged her.

Well, one guy (old, white, no military background) let her by, she was a cute lil girl (hello, nurse!), and had a charm about her and lots of fire. That day, She took a baby from the Native Intensive Care Unit and disappeared down the back door and took it to the family that were going to have their child taken from them due to serious drug issues. she got 5,000 dollars to do so.

I was in the security office when it happened, and I had to coordinate the whole thing. A "Code Pink" is the worst feeling in the world... when a nurse calls you and says "the baby's missing." The father was detained for days while they tried to determine if he was involved, and it turned out the mother's aunt was the person who appealed to the nurse and paid her to remove the baby from the hospital."

The baby was almost dead when they found her. it would have been dead had she not been a nurse. she went to jail FOR A LONG TIME, the officer was fired, and had the audacity to claim we discriminated against seniors, and tried to collect unemployment.

ACCESS CONTROL must be consistently vigilant. It provides the most basic deterrent for crime prevention.

This is where people go to learn about the equality our government tries to promote. This is where you follow the rules, and show noone is immune to them, least of all the people who have the greatest responsibility to show they are unilateral. This is not where you go to say, "I am immune to the law, because you have elected me to represent you."

This is why NOT EVEN BLACK DEMOCRATS in the Congress are defending her. NOT EVEN BLACK FEMALE DEMOCRATS.

She had to go to the most extreme liberal human rights activists to find any support, and even she abandoned her impotent accusations. And then even the other liberals and activists said "nah, you messed up. and then you made a big deal about it."

What is DAMN STUPID was it was under the rug, until she came out about it, and now EVERYONE knows if she does this, more people will attack cops and use the same defense. NO ONE EVER has the RIGHT to physically abuse a Peace Officer, let alone one guarding of our nation's most critical institutions.

No less than 15 members of congress or their employees get challenged daily, let alone the one's who get stopped at the vehice checkpoints.

If ONE other Congress Member said ONE thing about this, there may be cause.

The rules of MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) while at access control points is simple, and direct and includes bodyblocking and far more that this cop did not do.

If I were Georgia district 4, I'd vote Catherine Davis. and she's a BLACK WOMAN, too and SHE HAS GOOD IDEAS and RESPECT.

^^^^^I agree. I'd rather them be more anal about security then less. At least this day and age.

even before this day. Has been this way since WWII. nothing new.

I was on a ship in the Navy. You walk across the quarterdeck, on or off, you better have your ID.

The exception is in the Command Line (AND ONLY THE COMMAND LINE) Officers. And that is at the SOLE discretion of the Captain (Commanding Officer).

If your friggin BUNKMATES walk across the Q-D in uniform to throw out the trash on the pier without that ID, they better be prepared for the physical challenge and the Officer on Duty.

This is the govt. captitol of the Nation's capitol while the 9-11 trials are underway. It is not a friggin mall cop harrassing a woman carrying her own bags into the GAP.

FURTHERMORE, When you are working access control, they can send someone by you, like a secret shopper, to see if you do your duty. WHICH MY TAXES PAY THEM TO DO. and you can get reprimanded if you don't.

You or I would be arrested already if we hit a Peace Officer who tried to stop us.

Couldn't have said it better. As someone who works security (although far less important events than the Congress of the US), I can attest for the difficulties of maintaining access control. Everyone thinks they're special or should have special access just because they say so. This just ain't so. Access is controlled for a very good reason, whether in the Capitol building or at a concert. Fail to control access and you have anarchy; pure and simple.

And lay hands on a cop or security officer at your own risk.

This is my thing...

What if I knocked congressman McKinney in her head before she went to work that morning...Put some cyanide in my Thermos with the intention of killing some congressmen...

So, I grab that little congress pin...And walk throught the fucking gate...The ID they have doesn't even have a picture on it...How in the hell is him grabbing her a security issue..? You...Lettin' people in without a photo I.D...You can't even get inn the fucking BADA BING without a photo ID..! And then wonder why some congressman is skatin' through the gates..? Is this a nation on high alert..? Do you worry about the baby burning down the house and leave some matches on the counter..? Maybe I should just have open permission on the forums, and then stand up and cry when topics start getting deleted...I'm not buying it Homez, sorry...

Was is a security issue..? For certain..? Did McKinney look like she was about to make marks for the new D.C. sniper..?

Now, she dont' have a right to walk through the gate...That's dumb on her part...The officer didn't recognize her, and grabbed her...And he got his ass smacked up...I just find his motive ash shaky as her ass being dumb...Sure, there are a shitload of peeps that go through the gate...But...He didn't recognize her..? He's a police officer....Supposed to be protecting congressmen...And he don't know what they look like..?

For real..?

I don't know everyone by name I went to highscool with, but damn if I can't recognize a face..! C'mon man..! I'm not even on the race bit of it, I'm talking generally...How does a situation like this happen..?

Why does this woman need charges pressed against her cause Super cop grabbed her arm and got jabbed..? How about, we fucking tighten up the security on capital hill while the nation is in a state of alert..? How about we get some photo ID's, and an express lane for people that work at the damn capital to go do the jobs we pay them to do..?

I tell yall what...Any cop pull me over and ask me to get outta my car is going to end up in a high speed chase...That's my reality, and that's all I can relate to...

Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said McKinney didn't stop at an officer's request, then turned around and hit him after he grabbed her when she passed a security checkpoint.

Now...We've all seen Cops...How many episodes have you seen...Where the cop walks up to a cars window...Says, "Get out the car," and if the guy in the car don't move, the cop tries to physically remove the guy from the car..?

Do you know why they don't do it..? Right, cause they could get shot in the face...What if it WAS a matter of security...And John Wayne walks up and grabs this bitch on the arm and instead of smacking him, she whips out an AK and sprays everyone there..?

Is that the common police protocol..? You say something once, and at that point, cops got the right to put their hands on you..? I'm mean, I'm just saying...Dude is calling for this chicks head, when she may not have been totally in the wrong...

I completely agree with raum. His first post was perfect.

McKinney's excuse about not wearing the pin because it doesn't have your name or photo I.D. is bullshit. If they give you the pin to wear, you fucking wear. You don't make up your own rules.

So...Just so that we can be clear...The officer had a right to put his hand on her in the first place..? And he did this in the name of security..?

In a place where you don't even need a photo ID to get in...This is cleary an issue of security...

Excellent...

Send the bitch to jail then...
