thats basicly the only reason I can think of, but I do prefer mp3.
but I myself use Fairstars audio converter.. http://www.fairstars.com/audioconverter/index.htm

itunes wont play wma's (or will it??)...and thats where my entire library is...

Ayhja said it was deleting his songs and renaming them and shit...

I've never had a problem with it...

what are you guys using??

Well to answer your first question, if you do not consider the restrictive DRM, overpriced, non-cross-compatable hardware, non-self-servicable battery replacement, and the fact you are buying music you can get for free there is absolutely nothing wrong with iTunes and iPods. Unfortunately the aforementioned items are importent to me so I have chosen not to join in the iPodification of the US.

In response to your second question: I picked up a 2GB solid state (flash memory) player from Sandisk for just over 100$ with tax. Using a standard file manager, I copy mp3 and wma files I downloaded from various sites on the other end of this cat5 cable hanging out of the back of my computer.
