DVD player is fuuuggin' up...

For some reason my DVD player is acting up. I know it's not the CD because once i wouldn't stop fucking up in the DVD player, I took it out and played it on my comp, and it worked fine. I just finished watching it now.

It's odd. The picture screws up. It stops, and there are rectangular lines stretching across the screen, and thepicture distorts. It's like one of those puzzles McDonald's had. You had to move the pieces around to form the picture. That's what it looks like.

It just started happening tonight, though. I watched Hero Thursday night, and it never happened.

I've got Hero going right now. Its been playing for almost 10 minutes, and it hasn't screwed up once. Maybe it is the CD... but why would it work perfectly on my computer?

What happens is it kind of skips... stops, starts, stops, starts... and when it's stopping and starting, the picture gets garbled.

How is the DVD player connected to your TV..? Some fo these DVD makers, in an effort to thwart pirating, build encryption into their discs when it detects certain types of connections, as in, those that would allow you to copy a DVD to a VHS tape...

I'm almost certain, based on what you were saying, is what hapened...

I've got it hooked up through an RF Modulator.

The DVD is from the boxed set for Dead Like Me. Wal-Mart had the first and second seasons together for just $33, so I figured what the hell, I'll pick 'em up.

Well, I started watching the first season tonight. Towards the end of the first CD it started to fuck up.

I put the second CD in, watched the first episode, and nothing happened. I started the second episode, and it started fucking up pretty quickly.

So, I put the CD in my comp, started the second episode, and just like the first CD it worked fine.

I don't get it. The CD don't work in my DVD player, but they work on my comp. Is the problem with the DVDs or my DVD player?
