I don't care if its not the biggest leetest TV in the world.

I swear by Westinghouse. It is a company that means something to America, and the picture is good enough.

I have two TV's: a 27" LCD, and a 40" LCD with DVD integrated. I chose LCD for computer monitor capability, and portability.

They made the first TV. They made the first color LCD. How could they not make a decent LCD TV?

and they are American made and based, with very reasonable prices, and tweaking the knobs gets superb content.

(all of the default settings in best buy etc. are automatically bright on high, contrast on low. it's how they ship.)

blacks aren't as deep on the screen, if you care, but I'm legally blind withour glasses anyway...

I bought a 20 inch Ascent TV today. It's fucking HUGE! lol I didn't realize how big it was until my dad and I opened the box. It's like 4 times the size of my 13 inch. lol

Anyway. I've got two questions. 1. Has anyone heard of Ascent before? It was the only 20 inch they had in the store. It came to about $195 after taxes and that.

2. Does anyone know how much the average 20 inch TV weighs. I want to make sure my TV stand can support it. lol I think my stand can hold 50 pounds, but I'm not 100% sure. Right now I've got a DVD player, VCR and about 16 boxed sets on the shelves, and the 20 inch TV on top. The last thing I want is my the whole thing to collapse in the middle of the night. LOL

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could improve the picture on my new TV? I don't really know how to explain it... but it's not the clearest picture. lol It's not horrible, though. I can see perfectly what's going on. I'm just hoping I can make it a little more clear, a little more crisper.

just checked out Future Shop site and 20" tv's are roughly about 40-50lbs.

and as far as the picture you could try adjusting the picture settings (contrast, brightness, colour, tint, sharpness)

hope that works for ya dude...
