Hi there,

Buffmaster, who are those foxy girls in your av, mate? Very nice!

BTW gotta laugh at that fella spending all that time to create that website, only to misspell the key word. Classic!

Technically, you might get beat down for spelling and saying it like that, LoL..

Muslims do not recommend this spelling because it is often pronounced "mawzlem" /mɒzlɛm/ which sounds somewhat similar to an Arabic word for "oppressor" (Za'lem in Arabic). The word is pronounced /muslem/ in Arabic, but often /mʊślɪm/ in English. The word is now most commonly written "Muslim".

Maybe he wrote it that way to offend..?

actually, it is most likely because someone with this much interest has read enough classical writings on the subject to be accustomed to that classically transliterated word.

the spelling MOSLEM was used until the word found a resurgence in connection with the resurgence of conflict in the middle east in the mid 1980's. The MOSLEM spelling was abandoned because Mahzlim means "the cruel ones" (moz is the protocananite word for "might") The reason is simple Mem Ayin Zain is transliterated MOZ.

The real problem is changing the spelling does nothing to change the meaning from the cruel ones.

The word is better spelled "Moose-limb."

the trick is the "z" westerners add to it.. do to the slides of our labial / glottal contributions from Frence and German.

saying "mooz-lum" is just as offensive.

The new spelling of the word is as silly at the notion that there is a C in hebrew, for no letter has the combination of the S and K consonantal values.

I favor the moslem spelling, because it shows me (through A = alif, B=baa) what letters it is used to spell the ARABIC word, though I avoid use of Moslemeen, which is the plural of Moslem. I favor it though I tend to not use it, because many people in the middle east are distracted by it.

what if he called them Mahatman. would that be funny?
