he was the al qaeda operative bin laden put in charge of iraqi operations.
that dude who tried to take over the whole operation. and created a big division in their ranks.
the best part is that he was sold out by his own people. shows their true lack of faith to all potential recruits.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Al-Qaida in Iraq confirmed the death of its leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and vowed it will continue its ``holy war'' in a statement posted on the Web on Thursday.
``We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi,'' said the statement, signed by ``Abu Abdel-Rahman al-Iraqi,'' identified as the deputy ``emir'' or leader of al-Qaida in Iraq.
``The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme,'' it said.
Abu Abdel Rahman al-Iraqi???
Do they bthink this war can be won if they name everyone Abu and we get confused.
Let's change EVERY american soldier's first name to George. that'll show em!

Theres always gonna be some one else to take charge. The good news like raum said is the people may be getting tired of the violence and have decided to start working with US and iraq forces. The other thing is we might finely have enough spies in the field to get the info we need. Its great news if these things are happening

Here's the story since it wasn't posted... 'Painstaking' operation led to strike on al-Zarqawi
This is a huge blow to the insurgency, and I really don't think it matters who replaces him. al-Zarqawi really made a name for himself.
Anyway. I'm going to read the article now.
