You are the one that says that we should have some huge kind of research into the complicity of the things happening in the countries of Iraq, and Palestine.

I belief you call it the Root Cause... and you seem to think we have something to do with it. I ask you, WHAT IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS?

You have campaigned for forgiveness for the "only human" terrorists until you believe it. You have made such a show of compassion and mercy for the people we have so viciously labelled terrorists, and while not assisting of condoning their actions, you have asked us to put them in context, and made attempts to humanize the abstract enemy.

I decided to put Brains is Right in the topic bar, because we have what is called Irony in this country. and you are to date the only person I have ever seen that has ever asked for some kind of mercy for these fuckheads. You have essentially said in many posts that we should "care about these people" and I couldn't disagree less.

These monsters show no human decency and and I have none to afford them.

For the record, I never meant to imply you encourage this kind of activity.

But I have a question, Brains,.. what should we do with them when we find them? How would you punish them?

well. yes and no. I do not believe in axtra-judicial killings by a country which stands behind a "not guilty until proven so" credo. I have asked to reflect on how the West is behaving in the world, before crying shame about persons who are sometimes labelled "terrorist" too easily. Did I ever agree with how these "terrorists" are acting? ... NEVER!! I merely said I understand them. Do I think we should show compassion? ... Absolutely! And they should as well, but how can you expect them to show compassion when the biggest superpower in the world is behaving like dogs as well? E.g. Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, the war itself etc. etc. We talk one way, we act the other. Is that the doctrine we want others to follow? Is that the democracy we try to spread?

I do not ask for mercy; I ask for empathy. What better does it make you if you'd go medievel on them and slice these "fuckhead"'s throats? Are you the bigger man then? You would be at the exact same level as "them", wouldn't you? With the risk of touching upon religion, but there might - will - indeed be terrorists for whom all help is too little, too late. Their hatred-filled souls would act erratically. There is no kind of policy change which would convert these. They are already doomed. But a policy change is needed to make sure that the threat diminishes; that the US becomes the superpower again and one which everybody likes. Wouldn't that be a nicer situation to live in?

pffrrt. give them a trial. lock them up. if you think the death penalty is fair, then do that. I think that too is brutal, but that would lead us to another discussion. while in trial, ANALYSE! DOCUMENT! LEARN! and then apply that. Create that fucking report on root causes and act towards its findings - so that the threat diminishes again, instead of increasing daily.
