Quote of the day on Flag burning ban

#1

Post by Buffmaster »

The guys name is mike, and I found this on Foxnews.com

"I would speak in favor of the ban. A lot of people say that burning the flag is an expression of free speech, protected in the First Amendment, but it's not. The words were meant to be taken in a literal sense, so actions are not speech. If you use the logic that your actions are covered under free speech, then murder, rape, larceny, etc. would be legal because you're just expressing yourself." †™ ¢‚¬„¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¢†™‚¢‚¢¢¢‚¬Å¡‚¬¦‚¡¢‚¬Å¡‚¬†™‚¢‚¢¢¢¬…¡‚¬? I view flag burning as treason. It should be banned within the US. If they want to burn our flag, then go to another country to do it.
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

Soren Kierkegaard

You can burn the flag if you want because freedom of speech but at the same time, if you draw a cartoon with image of Allah, you'll pay with your life.
