I Have a Question About Christianity !!

A school of music that studies the rhythm of nature, a school of fashion that studies the elegance of the Universe, a school of design that studies the architecture of the ancients, a school of philosophy that studies the time-tested Truth.

Yup! I performed the ceremony. (Everyone thinks I'm older than Adam anyway...)

Corintians....I would never have linked that to just marrage but to all relationships and only for a spacefic pupose. Its about the spiritual health of a spacific path.If you wanted to be a better tennis player you would only become better by playing with other tennis players better than your self or at least with a good understanding of the game.A race car driver isnt going to help you learn about tennis. These writtings are more important to the people who are new to the path and need time to become fully mature in there understanding of them. The authers wrote to the many levels of spiritual growth. As you mature its much easier to withstand the tide that looks to alter your cource. You have to look at the writings as a whole in order to comprehend the meanings of any one passage. The bible speaks of not judging and loving your nieghbor. It also says that if a woman were married to a nonbeliever she should continue in her belief being as true to it and her husband as possible...Its all in the interpretation.

QUOTECorintians....I would never have linked that to just marrage but to all relationships and only for a spacefic pupose.

Why not link it to the Corinthian's tendency to think you had to act like a Jew to be faithful to Christ?

The people of Corinth were not Jews, and when they became Christians, they often also took up the customs of the Jews, though they were Gentiles. It was like people who say "I am a buddhist", and then proceed to act like they are from india!

The religion is NOT the culture. The official stance of the original Church that accepted Gentiles is "Jews were given the Torah, All people were given the Son of Man."

Its about the spiritual health of a spacific path.If you wanted to be a better tennis player you would only become better by playing with other tennis players better than your self or at least with a good understanding of the game.A race car driver isnt going to help you learn about tennis.

in his youth: wimbledon. now: race car driver.

in other examples, you honestly think that way? So, why do so many NFL atheletes study ballet? Why do so many high-school atheletes cross train to play multiple sports? http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/19 ... 03-021.htm

Here, better yet,.. just watch Karate Kid. wax on - wax off.

Any exclusive path ignores the interrelation of their path to all things, which to the authors of Corinthians, was Iesu. By emulating the tenets of Judiasm because he was born a Jew, they limit their souls. Rather, they should look to only Iesu, that they may see him everywhere.

That is what characterized the philosophy of the Essenes, and why they were considered ecstatics, just as the early Christians were. And ecstaticism was looked on VERY POORLY by Jews after The fall of Beiter, which was officially when Rome conquered Israel.

QUOTEThese writtings are more important to the people who are new to the path and need time to become fully mature in there understanding of them. The authers wrote to the many levels of spiritual growth.--------

That is because they were not all written by the same person. The writing of a letter was often done through a scribe, who often was chosen not to write verbatim, but rather to translate or pesha'ar sephor (elaborate the words, i.e. make it sound pretty.) That is certainly the case in the instance of Epistles, as well as the Gospels. Keep in mind the "Word" of God, is Logos, the hellenistic idea of the solidification of sound into idea, which is incased in matter, and often corrupted as it in incarnate. And without redemption before it is disincarnate, this corruption distorts the original essense.

This pagan Greek idea is why modern Christians believe you have to be "saved" before you die. The original sense of that word "saved" is not "rescued", but rather, "preserved."

I guaran-damn-tee you the people being "quoted" in the bible would rend their garments and tear at their flesh if you told them what the average person believes "they said" and did.

Yes, and it also says that

Wow... two different views.Who would have guessed.Do i believe if your trying to be a better tennis player you would become better by palying tennis ...yes..Do i believe you would improve by playing some one better than you..yes.Do i believe a tennis coach would greatly improve your game ..yes.Would a race car driver teaching you how to shift a car.. no.Thats all im saying....I was speaking to the teaching in question and as to its intent in pertaining to this thred..If you want to reframe the analogie to fit your beliefs than feel free to.And if you really want to push this thing why not a guy kicking a ball down the soccer field in ice skates dribbling a basket ball while trying to catch a pass.It all works together right
... How you were able to find a story about a tennis player who became a race car driver is beyond me. A big thumbs up and LOL from over here....Sounds more like a conversion to me.
