What happened to Mike Tyson could happen to any of us...

His place in history is solid, he was one of the best fighters of all times...No ifs, ands, headbutts, or consequential earbites about it...

I still don't know if I've ever seen a more feared competitor in any sport ever when he was at his peak. Yes, his downfall was a real trainwreck of sorts but alot of boxers go downhill fast. But I think when he was at his peak he might've been the absolute greatest of all time. When he was focused and came out of that corner with hellfire in his eyes, it was scary.

I agree....and now I can see the 3 of us that voted for the first one. He was downright scary good when he was in his prime. Not a single person in the world wanted to face him...or thought they could beat him in 12 rounds...despite the fact that it rarely went 3..... He was a monster....

GOAT?.... I dunno. When Ali wasn't just dancing around people just to make his predictions correct...he was amazing..... there are some others in the mix for that title.....but as far as a knockout artist and power puncher....not a man can claim as much as he can......

But you've gotta take his fall into account and what that did for the sport also. I don't think he was good for it because of his fall. He gave boxing a bad name which I believe it's still trying to get back
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?"

The fall wasn't his fault...Hell, he did not even start it...

Boxing purists would tell you that it was his botched loss to Buster Douglas in Tokyo that caused the horror that boxing has become today, all prior to the things that happened to MT afterwards...The conspiracy arose because Tyson knocked Douglas down first, and while the official time keeper had Buster on the canvas for 14 seconds, the official ring count was 8....

The rest, as they say, is history...

Don King had alot to do with his down fall, plus that bullshit rape that sent him down the river for six years.

Mike Tyson is the Fucking Man.

He's crazy...but he's a bad motherfucker.

In his prime...he was the greatest fighter of ALL TIME (yes, he would have murdered Ali in Ali's prime w/ ease)

and you know what's weird?

...he lives no more that 7 miles away from me...

Man, I don't know if Mike could decimate Ali...

Mike got murdered by Lennonx Lewis, it was not even a close fight...

Ali could beat Lewis with one hand behind his back...To shed some light on what I mean, consider this...Catch a couple Ali fights on ESPN Classic...Dude NEVER went to the body...I mean, hardly ever...He was a head hunter like no other...You know how fast a man's hands have to be, that you know he's going to try and hit you in the face every time, yet, you cannot stop it..?

Mike was no greater of a puncher than George Foreman, who knocked out Michael Moorer with a 6 inch punch when he was 40+...Ali took every shot Foreman could throw, and dropped Foreman while in his prime...And Ali was older then too, and had lost some of his speed...A young, strong Ali, would have stung the shit outta IMT..
