Ah damn, my own opinion, but...I really haven't liked Mike Tyson anymore since he bit Hollyfield in the ear. Why in hell would you bite someone's ear cause they beat the shit outta you?
It's a sport, EVERYONE gets to lose one day (it was his time the day Hollyfield kicked his ass), just try to stay on top as long as you can. He just made a fool of himself that time.

He was a really good boxer though.

so you're tellin me when Iron Mike was in his prime and droppin fools in under 10 seconds, he wouldn't have killed Ali??

when Mike was fighting Lennox...that was nowhere near his prime...

dont get me wrong...Ali is a true hero and an amazing fighter...and he could lay out most of today's fighters when he was in his prime...

...but i think if you take Tyson's best fight and Ali's best fight and melded them together and they were fighting each other...Ali woulda got dropped...quickly...

believe me when i say...Iron Mike is a fucking psycho in the ring...and more so in his prime...

...shit...he's a psycho out of the ring...you should see all the fights and shit he gets into here in the PHX...he's dropped many a civilian...LOL

I really think Mike in his prime and Ali in his prime would be an interesting fight. AYHJA makes a good point that Mike wasn't that much better of a puncher than Foreman was and Ali beat Foreman in his prime. I do think though that Mike had something though that very few fighters ever had - before or after him and that was just a desire to nearly KILL the guy across the ring from him. I think half the time if they had been fighting in the streets he could've killed half of those guys. You can tell by the way he came out of the corner there was just some kind of rage and fury in him that just came out in that ring and he just unleashed it on whomever was in there with him. Match that with incredible conditioning and power and he was nearly an unstoppable force.

Ali might've been better TECHNICALLY though. Speed, footwork, precision - there's nobody danced like him and. Footwork was almost a lost artform in Tyson's day. His opponent's sat there like statues while he barreled towards them like a freight train. He'd had to have WORKED to hit Ali. And I wonder how frustrated he would've got if it got into the middle/late rounds and he hadn't landed a couple of those power shots and Ali had started working on him? I think that's a big reason Tyson lost alot of the fights he did... Holyfield, Lewis... He found out there are some guys who wouldn't just lay down for him after he hit them once.

ROFL...! There's not doubt that outside the ring, MT was the last muhfukkah I'd want to see...

I'm not saying that it couldn't happen...But it wouldn't happen as easy as one may think...

For the record, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson are the same age...In fact, Lennox is a year older...So, I don't think being in his prime has anything to do with it, especially since Mike was not much of a finess fighter...Mike was a beast, and a ferocious puncher, but he didn't face a heavyweight that had Ali's speed and power...Like I said, Mike doesn't hit any harder or more potent than George Forman, Ken Norton, Joe Fraizer, or any of the other classic heavyweights that knocked kids out...Prime or not, Ali beat them all...Not to mention Ali lost 3 years of his prime for refusing to fight in the war...

The one weapon Lennox Lewis has that I cannot take away from him despite my thinking he's a shitty fighter, is his jab...He beat the shit out of a Tyson'esque fighter, David Tua, and beat MT fucking silly with it...In the ring, speed is ALWAYS > than power...

Bro, Mike Tyson is maybe 5'10...Ali was about 6'3", with an 80" reach...That's 9 inches more than Mike's, and 4 less than Lennox's...With Ali's speed and agility, he would have tapped the shit outta Mike for plenty rounds...Mike walked through punches, and has NEVER had much defense...Dude had a chin like a fucking anvil, and would have caught hell trying to swing for the fences while Ali kept that jab in his face...He would have hit Mike with one of them 4 punch (jab-jab-uppercut-hook), one hand combos and Mike would be rendered useless, unless he caught Ali showboating and hit him with that Snooka, LoL...

Hmm, I'm kind of with BZA on this. These days in sports, the new school guys are way more crazy than the old school cats.
I don't know, but I could give examples in other sports. Like in basketball, for example, look at what these cats of these days do in the slam dunk competition, compared to the old school. Like it's insane.

Same thing in bodybuilding, haha you CAN'T compare Arnold Schwarzenegger's size with Ronnie Coleman's, it's just insane to see the difference between them....

I actually think if you take Mike Tyson's best fight, and match with Ali's, Mike Tyson will win this.

.....Ali would scrap Tyson.....hands down...up....or all over Tyson's face, whichever you prefer.

I've watched plenty of each of their fights....and more than half of Ali's career...was spent toying with people...dancing around...letting them hit him in the stomach....talking trash....... when the guy got down and actually boxed...he was unstoppable.

Everyone knew the left jab was coming....yet no one could stop it.....He would jab the fuck out of tyson....dance around his huge power shots....and wear him down until he could use his quick hands to land a couple good combos.....

I don't see any arguements for Tyson except he's strong and powerful..... which...as Ayhja has already pointed out....so was everyone he fought and beat.

I mean don't get me wrong...I love Tyson...I think he'd beat most boxers in their prime....but it's just a no go with Ali....

Habib, boxing is NOTHING like bodybuilding...If anything, boxing and other contact sports are MORE hardcore than they are today for the simple fact of equipment...

Have you not read how Max Baer was killing muhfukkas in the ring in the 1930's..? Official cause of death being they got hit so hard they fucking brains got jarred loose, I bullshit you not...Ali and those guys went 15 round fights man, that shit is crazy...I am NOT a professional by any means, but for a length of time, I was a trained boxer/kickboxer...

Bro, 3 minutes felt like death...I can't remember a single time past the third round wondering how the fuck I'm going to lift my arms...I am a great student of boxing, and a fan, like LG said, I love Mike, but Ali was a master...

Did You Know: Bruce Lee loved Ali so much, and loved his movements and his boxing, that he saw no point in kicking..?

So, if fucking Bruce Lee patterend his fighting with Ali (watch some of Bruce's movies if you think I'm bullshittin' you), and Bruce is hands down one of the greatest martial artists ever, what does that tell you..?

LMAO, I just thought about something...I've never seen a heavyweight move as light on his feet as Ali, and I remember when Mike Tyson fought Larry Holmes, in the 4th round, Holmes got sporty and started trying to dance...

Guess what round Mike knocked his fucking head off in, LoL...
