Castro hands power to his brother
Castro hands power to brother during surgery
The longest serving leader seems to be in rough shape. I didn't know he was turning 80. They were showing pictures of him on CNN... all his hair is grey. lol I can't even begin to think of Cuba without him... he's been ruling that country throughout my entire life... It's gonna be extremely weird when he dies... :?

I wonder how long it will take the Dems to blame Bush for his death, which will happen in a matter days if not hours.

I would be really funny if his bro made it a democracy all of a sudden while Fidel is not able to serve. Wouldn't that be a huge slap in the face

With the way his brother is talking, it does kind of sound like he wants to move the country in a different direction...

But do you think he'll do it now or wait until Fidel has died?

Worse as a leader? I haven't heard that at all. I heard just the opposite. All the "officials" were hoping that Raul would take over soon to hopefully take another Communist nation off of the map. I don't know if he'll do it or not but I sure hope so. Baseball needs some new good players!

I heard that he said that it would be better to deal with his brother now, then with him later. That doesn't sound too peachy to me.

Well, he has a problem with booze... other than that I haven't heard too many negatives things about him. He did admit that there won't be another leader like his brother... lol
