It won't be a stalemate if one of them is cheapter than the other one, and in this case, HD-DVD...

Nah, my money's on Blu-ray. It has almost all of the CE manufactures making players and all but one of the major Hollywood studios releasing movies. Though right now it's more expensive to get a player that should change once the PS3 launches in November.

BD Players coming from: Panasonic, Philips, Sony, LG, Sharp, Pioneer, Samsung

HD DVD Players from: Toshiba, RCA (rebadged Tosh)

BD movies: Sony, WB, Paramount, Fox, Disney, Lions Gate, MGM

HD DVD movies: Universal, WB, Paramount
