Microsoft problem with my PC

#1

Post by Habib »

Okay, it appears to be that my copy of Windows is fake, I can't do ANY updates from the Microsoft site since I bought it, and I wan't also download any Microsoft product.
Whenever I try to do a "Windows Update", it tells me to validate my computer, when when doing, discovers that I don't have a valid windows XP key and I should buy one.

I don't have a credit card to buy one (I don't work), and my mum can't buy it either (women aren't allowed to work here), and he's gonna be away for a while.

This is so annoying, I already told AYHJA, and he said it's dangerous if you have an illegal copy.
The stupid computer guy who fixed my computer must have duped us while doing it, I'm gonna cut off his neck when I see him! Argh!!!

Any suggestions how this can be fixed??? I really wanna get the new IE 7.0 BETA 3, and before you can install it, it ALWAYS asks you to validate your Windows key, and if it's not valid, that's where the problem comes.

Firs things first, just find a simple program that will allow you to change you key code...There are tons of them out there, it shouldn't take long...

Then, just find someone w/a valid key, ore maybe one of the guys here knows how to generate one...I myself haven't been able to do that, but I'm sure there are ways to do that as well...

It's really not that big of a deal to do, just takes a bit of effort...Maybe one of the guys here can get you a key, as that is all that you need really...

Yeh, muBlinder does work - only for Windows update..

If you want a non-valid Windows install to get things like IE7 or WMP11 installed, you'll need to fix this a different way. If I remember correctly, you'll need to rename the exe so that it's extension is .rar, then you extract it with WinRAR, and you should find the Validation DLL somewhere in the extracted directory. Then, replace that DLL with a cracked version - I believe that is in the package hotheat posted, and then you just run the install from the directory?

Hey HH/WAI, that software, does it require you changing the key of the computer or not?
I don't understand how you said I can get the IE 7.0, can you explain that again?

Sorry for the overquestioning, not really good at computers, haha.

And I ONLY use the muBlinder in that software right? That's only what I need?

muBlinder is only really if your comp keeps complaining your Windows isn't legit or if Windows Update doesn't work..
I'll get you some step by step instructions for IE7 as soon as I can..
