Basically, a black man in the service risked life and limb to be there, and rescues the men who were the main characters in the World Trade Center, and oliver stone can't bother to do enough research with the people who were actually there and makes him a larger than life white "composite character"???
and he gets bonus points for not being a jerk about it.
"If you're going to tell a story, you should try to get it as accurate as possible," he said. "Some of the things did bother me to a certain degree--I'm an African-American male, and there's a white character being depicted as myself. But I'm not upset. It's bigger than myself-It's bigger than Staff Sgt. Kearns. A lot of people lost their lives. That's what needs to be remembered."
*salute* Thank you, Marine, for Serving.
Oliver Stone don't care about black heroes.

Are you trying to be funny? Oliver Stone didn't write this move... Andrea Berloff did... As far as I know, Stone wasn't even responsible for the casting...

yeah, i was referring to the "George Bush don't care about black people" comment Kanye made on live television during the New Orleans flooding.

I still say Wolf Blitzer's was the best... while the camera panned over a crowd of black people, he said something along the lines of: they're so poor and so black. lmao

much easier to laugh at, if you don't have family that were affected...
but it was definitely awkward.

Ty,
actually, the person in question was the person who rescued them from the site, and no one knew how to get in touch with him. they also apparently didn't do enough research to know he was black, and offered to let him come to the debut, which he politely refused. but his gramma was glad to see the article that reported the blunder.
her point was in a day and age of blacks kids having to squint to see a iota of a role model, how could they ignore her granson's color.
good point, granny.
