hi there. you guys like my topic design? it took like 2 minutes so i hope you do.

anyway I have been looking around at reviews and all online and am having a hard time coming down to the "right" decision.

i have been debating over the Canon sd700, Sony T30, and Canon sd630/600.

does anyone personally own any of these? overall I am leaning towards the 700 but today when i went to best buy I couldn't find the damn zoom. The screen is crystal clear but I was hung up over the zoom. Then again I only looked at it for about a minute or two. Had to leave and get some lunch.

The T30 has it's flaws but I heard it had great macro. And the 630/600 just overall looks sexy and alot better than the 700, although the functions aren't as good.

any help?

I myself am looking to get a digial SLR soon...I own a Canon Rebel now, it takes gorgeous photos...

Sample: http://www.volleydawgs.com/ = shameless self plug, LoL...

By all means, I am am by far an amateur, but I know that you can't go wrong with Canon, I'll never shoot anything but as a matter of fact...Even tho you say the sd630 doesn't have as many features, I bet you'd be happy with that one...

the 630 is sexy all around. i went into wolf camera and the dude was like all the 700 has is a view finder. he didn't mention a thing about the image stabilization.

in the end does that feature even matter? 630 has great reviews and i believe it is the one with the 3 in. screen cause i will most likely never use the view finder and just find a way to beat the sun.

A view finder would matter if you were burning through film, lol...

I like the 630 myself, espeically if that is within your budget...What is the specific purpose of having the camera...

sounds like getting a camera of very diminutive proportions should also be pretty high on the priority list, maybe even higher than optical zoom. I have a canon sd 450 and have been amazed at the pix it takes. lots of choices for manual settings if ya want to get into macro shots or panoramics etc. I have found that instead of needing lots of optical zoom, if I just shoot all my pics at the max resolution and then crop on my computer, I can get the images I want without sacrificing any noticeable quality.
