$1000? to me that's alot of money, but most cheapy laptops I've seen around don't get much less than that.

good luck mate.

QUOTE(ruffriders23)She is a cutie. Thats for sure. I know I wouldn't get a Dell... no matter what else is done, I would stay very clear from them. The CEO has them turned backwards and nobody knows up from down.

no wonder! those were the ones going for $800 (without all the "recommended" extras that are needed to make it a full system), bastards............

QUOTE(RIMFIRE)Dude....there's nothing wrong with Dell.

I have owned nothing but Dell for the last 10 years and can honestly say that I have had minimal problems with their hardware.

Let me see what I can get with our discount A!

I thought Dell started up in 2001? Or at least 2000?

QUOTE(AYHJA)You bastards...I should ban dudes that posted in the thread just to see the pic, lol...

I'm sure you fellas are aware that I'm capable of shopping...

I posted this thread here for some SPECIFIC configs per her needs I put in the first thread...As in, you shop the parts and put a rig together to post here...Put together the best rig you can, + or - a stack...

AMD 64 3200 X2 - $220 - Newegg.com
nVidia G5000 - $130 - zipzoomfly.com

Etc...

you got my confirmation! boot the in-tha-gutter fux!

Honestly I don't know too much about building a computer from scratch, and also the local prices (including Dell) are very high, the cheapest really was $800, not including the parts that are necessary to make it complete (but advertised as "extra").

I see that you can get the CPU and the nVidia for a bargain, that's great! It certainly helps me to work out what you can do.
Do you want a laptop, or a workstation?

I'll get back to ya. And say hi to your partner for me :hi: .

Case: Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Mid Tower 450Watt ATX 2.0 $112
DFI INFINITY NF ULTRAII-M2 Audio/GB-LAN/IEEE-1394/PCI-E/SATA3G/DDR2/ATX 64 (Socket AM2) $100
Processors: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (OEM)(Socket AM2)
Thermaltake AMD Certified 64/FX/Opteron Heatsink $12.65
Memory: 1 GB (2 pcs 512) DDR2 (533) PC2-4200 Patriot Signature (PSD21G533K) $84
Hard Drives: Western Digital Caviar SE 160 GB SATA3G 8MB Cache 7200 RPM (WD1600JS) $60

Total price around $960. I am assuming she has a monitor she can use until a new one is in the budget.

Well then, congrats to emanon! 8) 8)

I knew what you wanted, I just didn't know how to do it. Sorry man.

At least I wasn't a dumbarse with me head in the gutter, buggin' to see pics of your partner. Heck I didn't even realise there was a picture until just before writing this very post. Yes, she is very nice and I'd love to meet her, but that's not what this topic is about-> it's about a COMPUTER SYSTEM for her.
