Brains,

you know my view,.. you are a "feeler" and those are important. but I am a thinker, and right now, misplaced compassion is the absolute worse weapon terrorists use against us.

You know why the insurgency in Iraq grew exponentially in seemingly little time? because they were talking about the difficulty to quell the insurgency. The most civil thing to do was "amnesty." They were basically not going to press the issue, and let people "start to behave" after the particularly discordant actions of several first responses to the Chaos of a Post-Saddam Iraq. This "charity" was exploited as weakness, and the warring factions of the Muslims decided to take pot shots at each other, as they'd be mainly immune to repercussion. Well, these attacks got out of control, and we had to put more boots on the sand. This made them feel betrayed, when we started persecuting. This also gave them the edge needed to convince others that we were not there for the liberation of the Iraqi people.

Be honest. Saddam's FORM of control, was not stable, it is rooted in fear, force, and fatalities. The people of Iraq, in a civilized world, would need years of therapy before cleared as "sane." Even worse, some of them are opportunistic and seeking a manifestation of their zealous ideals.

And if you think Saddam was more stable for Iraq, you have no choice but to advocate capital punishment,.. because to extreme levels, that is what he used to sieze control of the courage of the Iraqi people to seek the ideals we as Americans hold as self-evident tendencies of every human.

He is right... a vote for Saddam is a vote for iron fisted, capital punishment believing rulers. You might as well come out and say that Hitler wasn't THAT bad.

well. fuck. hitler DID some good things as well. he created a flourishing germany building up after ww1. after which... hear me, because this ALSO is crucial to me: he got totally out of control. but I have not seen Saddam go totally out of control AFTER 1991. (I seen him do that BEFORE 1991 with the massacres he's on trial for)

raum: i am not entirely disagreeing with your post. it is just that the way you guys got in was over it. it was not the righteous thing to do. there were other means. your government lied to the world about WMD and links to al quaeda and shit.

as a little side-story: you know what upsets me most about my little 5y old boy: that he lies or tries to. if I catch him doing that - I go berserk. I just can not accept the most powerful country in the world does that. for whatever reason.

yes: the "insurgency" MADE use of the vacuum. they MADE use of an instable country. they SHOULD indeed have been quelched quickly and easily, but no-one was in charge to do so. the US also was too occupied with searching for inexisting WMD and securing the oil infrastructure - NOT with tackling insurgency. they thought that "major hostilities were over"; that the victory was won and they were wrong. i do blame the current instability on that frikken war and I really doubt that your intelligence (the secret one YOU have access to) will make me change my mind.

And Joseph Stalin wasn't ALL bad right? I don't give a damn what Hitler did good for Germany... the guy killed somewhere between 5 and 6 million jewish people for nothing more than their religious beliefs. I hope that guy is getting a big pineapple shoved up his ass every day by Lucifer himself.

Nobody in the worlds history has been PURE evil... everyone has done something good at some point in their life. But, a few good acts doesn't make up for a lifetime of hate and negitivity.
