Israel says: "Unlike Hezbollah, we did not deliberately target the Lebanese civilian population," he said.

Lebanese infrastructure was "targeted only when that infrastructure was being exploited by the Hezbollah machine, and this is in accordance with the rules of war", Mr Regev said.

War causes alot of distruction. The problem with what is going on now in the world is that people have stopped destroying peoples homes, and have started attacking them in public. The suicide bombers are the real threat to the world now.

Whenever a bomb is dropped or a shot is fired, something in the world is destroyed.

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Hey Brains, where are the pictures of the destruction caused in Haifa? I have a great picture of a car riddled with holes from small ball bearings that Hezbollah was throwing in with its rockets. I should post some pictures of the small farming communities that were hit... that's right, Hezbollah attacked small farming communities. I ask you, where's the military target there? The only reason Hezbollah didn't cause as much damage as Israel is because Hezbollah is a terrorist militia.

Was the war worth it? No and Yes. The war wasn't really worth it because Olmert is one of the worst leaders I've seen in a long time. He failed to achieve his objectives: the release of the soldiers and the disarming of Hezbollah.

On the other hand, the war was worth it because world attention was finally focused on the issue... It's true that the U.N. resolution is completely useless, but at least the issue is no longer in the darkness.

When someone dies, everyone loses. War is always a lose/lose situation. One side loses the battle, and the other sides loses people.

lebanon holds a certain special place for me... and this sucks.

and it is even worse because Israel chose this route, and didn't walk all the way down it.

the problem with "civilian" as a term in conflict now is that paramilitants like Hezbollah soldiers ARE civilians.
