Weak argument...
Anyboy can be 'banged' at any time...Did you see Amare puttin' up 40 a night on Timmy D in the playoffs..? Amare didn't stop or shut down Timmy D either, but you see my point...Any 4 your are going to name for me is going to be
1) Removed from his comfort zone
2) Exert all his energy on defense
3) Get 3's rained on him pretty consistently
Most 4's that you take out of the paint are useless...With Chuck bangin downlow and The Dream givin' dudes the business, I don't need Dirk down low doing anything...I need him out on the perimeter, creating the most insane mismatches possible...
Plus, you must have missed who I have running the point...Magic made Sam Perkins 10x's better than what he really was..I shudder to think what he would have done with a player of Dirk's caliber....

Dirk is definitely a wicked player... I remember a while back they were showing some of the plays the Mavs use. They'd spread the floor, two guys at each side with Dirk in the center. It made it impossible for the opposing team to double team him, and since he can pretty much shoot over anyone, it was an automatic point.
He's an all-around good player... good scorer, good rebounder, excellent three-point and FT shooter...
I'm not sure who I'd put on my team... but I'd probably have to have both Kobe and Dirk. Kobe is an excellent clutch shooter. His rebounds and assists aren't great, but when he's on fire, it's damn near impossible to put him out.

Dirk is a good player, but someone who can't even win the MVP award in, what could be his prime, is certainly not worthy of a G.O.A.T. pick. I know that for certain.

That arguement is ridiculous...MJ Didn't win league MVP every year...does that mean he's not the best player in that year.....or how about Steve Nash...since he won the MVP...do you think he's the best player in the last two years?
Besides....I'm a little irritated right now with the fact that you post after everyone else...critquing their teams and their reasons...but have yet to put up your own team..

Did MJ win every single year... no. Has Dirk won one? no.
Is Dirk a high level player... yes. But, he is not greatest of all time. I mean come on... 22 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.01 SPG, and 1.10 BPG is pretty good... allstar worthy... maybe a MVP along the way. But, G.O.A.T. ... certainly not after 8 years. He needs to grab more boards and block more shots. He is mostly a scorer.

I'm with LG... instead of trashing picks, put up a line-up. Who would you put in the F position.

Okay....for the fifth and final time......The team I put up at the beginning...is the GOAT.....
The team I listed recently...is the team that I LIKE ...and would most like to see on the floor for my team if I was a general manager.
I am not saying Dirk is the greatest power foward of all time.....because I never once stated it...and I've also numerous times said Karl Malone is the greatest...
But I'm not going to listen to anything else you have to say until you post your own team.

I did... back on page 2.
PG: Magic Johnson
SG: Michael Jordan
SF: Larry Bird
PF: Karl Malone
C: Wilt Chamberlain
I know that looks almost like everyone elses... but, they are the G.O.A.T. C is the only position that has a small amount of debate in it. The rest are pretty set in stone.

Exactly....so...if the greatest is a known damn fact.....I've since moved on to "build your fantasy team"
How exciting is a thread where everyone has the exact same team....we've established what the greastest team is....now we're moving on to opinions.....if you can't accept that fact....and want to turn everything around into a "but he's not the GOAT"....then you either don't understand where the thread has moved....or aren't willing to participate.
So...for the millionth time.....everyone knows who the best at every position is (except C)....we know no one is better than MJ....
Now build your fantasy team....with reasons why you choose who you do.

All right... it took a little time, but here is my somewhat full list... I'm sure LG will probably tear it apart. lol
PG Steve Nash
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Undecided
PF Dirk Nowitzki
C Ben Wallace/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
It was kind of a toss up for C. I liked Trash's pick of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but I grabbed Ben Wallace because he has better steals and blocks stats.
You guys can all accuse me of being bias for picking Steve Nash, I don't care... lol I think he's an awesome player. He's not selfish. He always passes the ball, he always sets other guys up for shots. He makes everyone around him good. There's a reason he won the MVP back-to-back. lol
